Sounds like you're trying to play the class as if it were a Marauder: you don't have a ranged pull? Neither do Slayers or Witch Elves; no AP? 5pt Left tree/AP pots/bring-a-zealot-to-work day.

It has the highest damage output when enraged - but sufficient drawback in the form of very low defences. Removing this drawback would mean Choppas can go HAM 24/7 with no counterplay; it would be incredibly broken.

you are right about one thing, choppa is not like mara, it's better

i just gave my opinioon. i play order so for me is indifferente. so far as engineer everytime i get a choppa is a free kill for me.

I would have agreed on solo, but after the 6v6 well…

6v6 is worthless. only open rvr warband keeps count. and despite i rapetrain choppas in 1v1 i still sasys game is not intended for 1v1 but i just gave an opinion concerning a class that need half warband on it to keep it alive. compare choppa and WL status then you see what i mean.
