Dps shammy brain storming

So I semi revitalized my shammy a bit. I'm torn on going full on DPS or enjoying the life tap as they are both a BLAST. I really only do small RvR with him and if I need to heal I put on some more healing gear. But I'll roam this thread a tad. Kinda curious if anyone has any tips for me. Sorry if you are going to be repeating but like I said, I'll go back and read after I get a minute and maybe edit this out. But first off, is the silence really all that reliable? Second of all, what is the main rotation? I get the dots, dots are key as they add up and sometimes make cleansing a nightmare. Do you turn .Ex mode off when you wanna do some dps? Ummm gear seems fairly simple lol. But tactics.... gosh there are so many awesome ones!!!

Again, I wll edit this but can anyone list real simple the basic rotation, then maybe 1-2 different tactic setups they use as I know most people who main a class have several, I know I do on my DoK for melee, heals.... is well pretty straight forward lol.

Edit: Curious if you could tell me how you would handle these situations:

1. WH pops on you and he isn't a bad one, he actually knows what he is doing.
2. You see a healer, and a WL?
3. Vs a WL (they tend to roam solo a bit)
3. SW alone.
4. AM alone.

I realized watching my own videos that I do quite a bit different things not just for different classes, but different situations and I'm trying to learn them all. My main problem I feel like is the shaman has so many dang abilities, it is hard to master when/what to use all the time lol. So okay, I'll go back to studying

VS an AM, assuming equally-skilled, it can go either three ways: you burst him down during your rotation, he outlasts you and kills you due to better HD/extra dot, or you both play well and noone wins.

Having the silence helps tremendously vs AMs: Get your dots on, AP drain, pop silence, and hope to burst him down during your ere we go/bb rotation. I actually think a well-played DPS Shaman would now give AMs a run for their money with the changes.

Nice! Yah I've semi been playing around with going DPS and still getting good lifetaps, or going more middle of the road for when people are in my party. All I know is it is 10x more fun in RvR than healing on my DoK haha. But the DPS mode is AMAZING when it works out. Obviously I'm terrible at it, but definitely fun to learn a class again.

You need Mid tree to da whaag is comming! In grp play to 100% . In solo roam mayb not

To Master dps shammy you have to learn The diffrent style of pLay
Solo = dotting, tapping running
Grp = bursting assisting ( heal and dps) rezzing ')
WB = debuff in aoe spamming

You have to Master youre gork points. If you run out or create Mork points in grp Play you do something wrong!! Only two execause is If morale two is rdy ( focussed mind) thats The only Moment for a three dot than morale than burst Rotation.
Or your healer get punt focussed or so.. Make fast Mork points via dots Spam grp heal.
Normaly i Just use bleed fertig me dot no other dot execpt 1 vs 1 or rare Situations

Yeah for sure on the points. I feel like you get into a rhythm but sometimes you'll have something happen like a WH pops or a teammate gets crazy low and I two one too many life taps... ugh.. But it is getting much better that is for sure

I'm curious if the DPS shaman has any SC viability. I get that it can do support dps, momentary burst, and the 5 second AOE can technically do decent damage. It can also be tankier than a sorc, but damage isn't really on par which it shouldn't be. But other than that I'm just not entirely sure if it can work all that well.

I saw some SC's from live where shamans were like.. 400-500k damage and I can wrap my brain around how. I guess technically if you got your AOE to hit enough you could get numbers up a bit, but I'm trying to find the niche for it. Personally I like the 30% damage 79% heals so you can assist on a target that is going down, but still throw out 2-4k lifetaps as well as hot everyone up obviously.

But it is specifically in SC's where I'm not really able to get in the groove for any support DPS, RVR is obviously pretty easy in massive wide open combat and kite groups. SC's being generally more brawl bashes, it is a bit more difficult.

Hm my record is 1,2 Million dmg in a praag sc mayb you dont have The renown or items for IT? How you skill? Renown points? Trees? Whats youre int crit? Distrupt striketru? Are you good in gork points Holding?

I'd say gear is about 75% of what stats will be at max level. RR is only in the 40's so while I do agree that I can't do any Best in Slot spec, I was just curious what the big booms are coming from.

If you can hit multiple targets with every one of your 5s CD AOE's, I get that it would add up, but are you constantly getting the toughness debuff and then booming the group? Do you primarily keep 1 dot on a target or not really go for those and mostly focus on your 2s cast damage spells and channels?

Obviously there are different situations for each, and AP drain being up as much as possible is big. But I'm just working on getting in the proper mindset to even attempt it in SC's as something other than a healer. The healing part I think I have in the bag as I generally do well playing healer classes, get bored then move to the DPS version once I have the healing abilities under control.
