So far, due to the smaller size of the community, the fact that some of the more skilled players can sometimes post aggressively, and my apparent lack of ability to issue board warnings, I've avoided taking hard action against shitposting. We might have to discuss this internally.
The other problem is that bans from the forum are linked to bans for the gameserver. Any forum ban gets transferred there.

i was talking about banning players that rift/magnet through doors.Azarael wrote:So far, due to the smaller size of the community, the fact that some of the more skilled players can sometimes post aggressively, and my apparent lack of ability to issue board warnings, I've avoided taking hard action against shitposting. Yes some players post agressively (myself included several times) but i think it is ok as long as you dont explicitly insult them, make racist comments, stuff like that. Saying "you are bad" is normal in a PvP game.
I had several aggresive posts with the Enigma crew. They used the "l2p" argument for several pages. And guess what? In the end... they were right about BO/SMs. (btw i think im ok with them now, hopefully it's the other way around as well).
Many of my most "hated" forum enemies ended up being some of my best friends after a 1v1/6v6 in game.
TL;DR: Forum PvP can be ok as long as you dont go over the top (insults, racism, etc.).

Re: Will rifters get punished?
It's mostly rift. Not rift/magnet. I''ve been leading wb for a few hours today both to defend and to attack. Haven't seen a single instance of engineers using the bug. They don't want to do it? They can't do it? That I don't know. But if some of the order uses this bug he of course should be punished the same way as bug using magus players.

Re: Will rifters get punished?
Would be easier just to block them within 500ft of keeps and have done with it.
Re: Will rifters get punished?
It's an Alpha. Go for it until you guys find another solution. 22 classes out of 24 will be happier (i guess).Azarael wrote:Would be easier just to block them within 500ft of keeps and have done with it.
Re: Will rifters get punished?
Wait what.. aoe dmg that can go trough doors is bug? If you fix this then melee dps have nothing to do 99% of time when doors are up.
You can go outside and damage them, then return inside.. but when door teleport is bugged most of the time you end up dead or stuck.

Azarael wrote:The difference between AoEing through a door and pulling through a door is that one is ubiquitous and short-ranged (too difficult to punish) whereas the other has a 75ft range, is local to one class per realm, on only one of their specs, and means you die.
I'm sure you yourself have seen in warband/say/advice chat "Slayers/Sorc's/Bw's/Choppas get on the door and aoe their tanks out". Correct me if I'm wrong, but both are equally wrong no? One pulls you from the other side and gets you zerged over, while the other one gets you killed without los while you're trying to beat down a door.
Sure, rifting/magnet is very annoying which is why I suggested disabling the ability and doing some major tweaking did I not? Disabling it on the keeps is fine, but people can still pull you through walls (ie Temple, Gates, Reikland etc). So, it would have to be disabled there too.
Re: Will rifters get punished?
Try this and see what impact it has on the game, you can always revert the change later.Azarael wrote:Would be easier just to block them within 500ft of keeps and have done with it.
No harm done i say.

Were you able to aoe through the door on live? that should answer your question.

Re: Will rifters get punished?
Wow...you want to ban people for using rift? Are you mad?
The problem is being looked into, as per what Aza and various other people have said a few times.
Your posts always seem to revolve around nerfing rift to ****. Heck, even the fact that you have said 'only rift - not magnet' shows your bias.
People using rift to DELIBERATELY pull people through doors? Ok - fair enough.
People using rift in premades/scenarios - leave it.
People using rift INADVERTENTLY pulling people through objects, i.e. they are none the wiser - they don't deserve to be punished.
These 'nerf rift' threads are a bit monotonous. Unlike other classes, you guys seem to forget that if you severely negate this skill's effectiveness much more, there is 0 reason to play the class. 0 reason. Nerf slayers ID? Fair enough, they can still function; remove BWs aoe capabilities? they can still ST one-shot.
