For smallscale in general tanks usually go 2H, since your survivability will still be decent against 6-man and there's usually no casters involved so HtL is pointless.

Of these knight is, sigh, still probably the best; thanks to auras and to it's aoe debuff (wounds+crit). The upside, if you really wanted to play snb, is that knight hits like a wet noodle, so if you don't look at your character you can imagine you're snb; you'll be doing damage like one.
