I went with chosen and don't regret it. Since you do spirit damage with ravage, and undefendable with rending blade (etc).. I think the damage is most consistent. Plus, every group wants a chosen. The auras are too good. IMO the chosen has the best diversity in spec. 2H is even viable in warbands. Or you can go shield and get the heal debuff/resist aura with huge ravages. Or middle tree for knockdown, super punt, and increase parry after block tactic.
However, I think BO can be more fun if you like the flair of the class. You'll also see larger crits with BO than other classes. But only against super squishy targets like AM or slayer. Also, the super punt from BG is insane. I could definitely see being a super annoying unkillable shield BG and having a blast punting people a mile. There was a BG on NA server 'axewoof' who fought multiple warbands (PUGs/bads) by himself .... and he was winning.

Re: 2H BO vs 2H chosen
As others have stated, DPS wise BO has Chosen beat. For tanking with a 2 Hander you'd be better off with chosen, mostly because Suppression, and guard damage can be parried. While Blorc's armor buff doesn't stack with mara's their damage is physical whereas Chosen's main source of damage is Ravage, which is spiritual.
That said, going 2H tank generally makes you lose utility/cc and thats the main role of tanks(that and guarding). Going DPS build as a S&B blorc is much better for you group than a Chosen going DPS.
On a tangent, I hate 2H DPS tanks. Why? When theres only a handful of tanks in a scenario and all of them are 2Hander and none of them guard, they are pretending to be a MDPS and run away as soon as the enemy rdps starts plinking at them, instead of running up to them and taking hits/using cc/punting people/applying pressure. This topic has already been beaten to death many times over so I'll end it with this: if you want to do damage, play a damage dealer, not 2H tank.

Re: 2H BO vs 2H chosen
Theres really no reason to go 2 H over S+B unless you are going 2H for an ablity to add ultilty ie. Cavewin, Rending blade to apply Cripplting strikes, Arcing swing, etc.
And even then you don`t have to spec so you are to squishy, you can go 2H and still have good toughness/wounds, so you can guard people and assist by applying whatever special you gained by going 2H.
However what many do when they spec 2H is stack all strength, even blow renown on strength, so they end up with 600-700 Str or more and like 400 toughness, and 5k wounds, and can`t guard anyone and actually require being guarded themselves .
You can go 2H and still have 700 toughness, and 7k wounds, 50 % or more parry with buffs, can still guard people, and apply whatever ultility you gained from going 2H. theres no need to gimp yourself by building to squishy you can`t even do the fundamental task of guarding .

Re: 2H BO vs 2H chosen
Well said. I realized this only AFTER trying to go a full STR knight, then I played a BW and realized how pathetic my full DPS Knight + F.O. was and immediately went full SNB. Only difference is I think Chosen CAN be viable with 2H because of Suppression and Crip Strikes (via Rending Blade and 15% more crit). But ONLY as long as they are maxing defensive stuff (like Parry/disrupt via renown) and have 6k wounds + 500 toughness minimum. Then sure, throw rest in strength for all I care. You wont be AS tanky as SNB but you will deal ALOT more damage then SNB too and not really require much in the way of focus heals - if played right.DirkDaring wrote:Theres really no reason to go 2 H over S+B unless you are going 2H for an ablity to add ultilty ie. Re: 2H BO vs 2H chosen
Some observations I have.
I am a sword n board Chosen. The other day a Black Orc 2 hander asked me to /duel him in the city so he could decide what axe to use, and beat the crap out of me for about 30 minutes of repeated /duels. My tank setup is very cookie cutter, and with a healer i pretty much feel immortal. Without a healer i can I can stay alive through more punishment than a Mel Gibson movie. Its very hard to kill me. And make no mistake, I am NOT even close to the tankiest tank. There are several tanks in the game that cannot be killed by friggin fire clowns on LSD.
This Black Orc that was testing his two handed axe ripped me to pieces in seconds.
I guess the moral of the story is, if you take what a 2handed Blorc can do seriously, you will be very very scary. I recommend trolling the forums for specific names. To learn how to be a Chosen tank, I read whatever Tesq, Viskag/Sulfuras write and try to do it that way. Pretty sure there is a Black Orc zen master somewhere in these forums. Wish I could tell you who beat the crap out of me.

2H BO can't guard, 2H Chosen can. There really isn't anything more to add to this
