Why the magus hate?

In sc I see the magus get targeted first and raped and people drop what they're doing to go after a magus, do people really hate them that much or is it that they're easy targets or something?

Joking aside, a lot of times it's a matter of positioning. A lot of the magus abilities are 65 feet.

The shorter range of Magus spells puts them out front and makes them an easier kill target.
