Noise's lil 'Blog' [Old "Guide" post]

Updating this stuff here from time to time now. As there is quite some stuff fixed now and probably new stuff will arise when T2, or a lvl-cap increase comes i'll keep cleaning it up a bit more.

Current Issues on RoR:

* Please read the fking Text in the Launcher before mindlessly starting the Game.
Currently we have bugged Mails. _This problem is still existent even if its not stated in the launcher!_ .
A Small help for you regarding Mails. Mails and AH work, but with the restriction for online chars only! In other words DO NOT send stuff to your own chars. Better direct trade them with a friend and let them hand you the stuff.

* Zone0 . Many or maybe even everyone of you had it at least once. Your best friend here is the good old "/stuck" or book of binding. If your book doesnt work anymore or stuck throws you into zone0 again simply relogg. Your book of binding will be off coldown again and be usable again. Same also applies when you get stuck in 'Erkrund' .

* "Im never getting any heals in Scenarios"... Be aware that there are currently no working party frames for warbands. Which means EVERY healer has to CLICK your MODEL instead of clicking a small icon in the frames window. So please, please stop jumping around like a retard when you need some heal. It just makes their job harder. Simply try a healer yourself and you will understand it. Sure you should move while being pressured, but if you are slowly dying on DoTs simply because you fail to stand still, its definiely your fault here :p

* "Speedhacker/Laggers etc" . No they probably arent.Just stop complaining about that. Its just that mounts currently are not visualized and you get increased 'running' speed from mounting up. Sadly this also works while swimming, but deal with it for now.

Stuff that prolly most people should read:
This is my personal 'Guideline' for people !

1) For DPS: Priorities. People dont understand that there is no such Law as a 'must focus healer at all cost' or whatever.
You actively have to switch your targets depending on the current situation. If you see that the Guardtank of the enemy Witch suddenly is going down to dangerous HPs then simply try to burst him with Morales or other Sh*t instead of brainlessly focusing the Witch. Another example: Someones attacking an enemy Bright Wizard and drop him to low HP, but he manages to escape,he gets healed back up and starts to burn the others again. Now 95% of the people already switched their target to some crap like a 2handed IB in the front and consequently attack that target until they either run out of AP or the IB simply wont die, INSTEAD of either just waiting the 5 secs for the BW to return, or drop some Attacks on the one healing the BW and instantly switching back to the BW (because the healer now has to heal himself, panics, gets distracted etc.). Even one DPS doing some strange maneuvers like this can indeed make a difference.
Also try to understand that it does not matter if your target may be a Tank or may get a lot of Heal IF he is severly lower in level than you. They got either no Armor, no resists or no skills to defend against serious attacks and if they get focus healed, then the enemy Healers are wasting their ressources for a practically negligible target.

2) For Healers and Tanks: Learn to move your fking camera. Always play out zoomed to the maximum. Try to PLS not click your skills with the mouse, so you can always move around with a held down right mouse button to get fastest possible 360° movement and vision at all times.

3) Especially for Healers, but also Tanks: Learn to get a feeling/vision/grip (or call it like you want) for when your Friends are going to get serious damage. If you see a Sorcress stacking her Dot+Word of Pain on for example your ShadowWarrior then try to see if she starts casting her Doombolt or any other sorc of 'Rota' and react appropriately. If the Word of Pain has 1 second left, start already casting your 2 second Heal.
As Tank If you see a Slayer+IB coming in the direction of your Healers, try to fall back and assist them with Guard and/or Slows or other forms of CC. For a better team-working party the last few lines from point 4) for your DD may apply here as well in combination.

4) For DPS: Keep an eye on your Healer as well as your Guard Tank. If you see that your Guard Tank is receiving some heavy damage, then try to back off a bit so he does not receive too much additional damage from you and can be healed up again. Even something like 3-5 seconds of a pause can help QUITE a lot for your healers when you relieve them of the stress with healing YOU too.
Additionally here: When you see your healers are getting attacked and kite their followers somewhat out of healing Range (people like to overextend a lot), then in most cases (but not all!) ignore your actual Target (even if it may be an Healer) and try to Kick the followers of your Healer even further out of range, Root/Slow them there and simply kill them. By the time the enemy healer realized that his Groupmate went out of Range it may be too late for him to react.

5) Optimize your Movement. Be it Healer, DPS or Tank. You can always exploit the Area you are fighting at.
Try fail range DPS' attacks through quickly moving forward/backward walls/crates/ramps etc. .
Try to get rid of the enemy Melee Train by jumping and zigzagging around crates, fences, castlewall battlements or whatever you find suitable. DO NOT stand still if you risk your life by doing so.
Cut your targets escape route and do not follow them like a lemming when they are kiting you. Try to predict their movement and see if you can shortcut the way to get back in Melee range. I see SO many people running literally in the footsteps of their target instead of anticipating their movement.

6) Learn to detaunt. And especially WHO to detaunt.

Time for a new Edit:
I thought it was time to add some minor things:

Tanks: Many people always think tanks can freely play with 2handed whenever they want. Well lemme tell you one thing:
it CAN be useful, but in 95% of all cases a tank with shield simply is far superior to any 2hander.
Some of you may now think "but Noise, ima lose my EPIC dps if i switch to sword'n'board mimimi" ... i call that bullshit. Your archetype is Tank and not DPS. even if some skills want you to wear 2handed, please just dont. You can do those Troll/Fun builds when you're alone, but i beg you not for groups.
Reasons? As tank your sole existence is for utility and beefyness of your group. Shield gives you the possibility to even block MAGIC (like Disrupt for everyone else) and also lets you not only parry but also block the Guard-damage you would receive. Even if you have a complete Offtank/Dps specc, you will pretty much ALWAYS run a better course with a shild instead of 2handed. I could now bring some Examples about (orange colored) Chosens, or the likes on RoR, who still hit like Wet noodles despite their 2handers, but i wont

Melee DPS: Not much to add to my previous 'Edit' above. Just be aware of your enemys and your allies being chased and decide which target is makes more sense. Often its a better Idea to kill one DPS first and then go for a healer, instead of letting their full damage comp rampage on your allies.
^- Same works pretty much for Ranged DPS as well .

Healers: Many people believe its a good idea to go full heal on their class all the time. Stacking max Willpower, even getting full will talis and rr skills... In later stages of the game this will only work if you're a god with your movement, your awarenes and your kiting. Its a misbelief that you want to max out your healing skills. You want to max out your heal-output generally, which often can simply come due to more surviveability. Simple example: What would you prefer, 3 heals for 2000 or 5,6 heals for 1500 before your healer dies. I prefer the second one. Think about it. And in any case you have to decide: Crit >>> Will.

Those 'guidelines' i posted above, will be useful once we get working RR-Skills, since you can either put some extra points in Block, Critheal , Anit-Crit damage etcetc. Currently the itemization sadly has its shortcomings, but with higher levels and more gear choices, you will see a difference if you fill your role correctly or not.

Edit #34932709:
Deleted a few parts since they're obsolete with the current patch or will be with the next one.

If anyone has any special questions or requests - be it playstyle, speccs or whatever comes to mind, then just post them here and i'll give you some advice or help. For people who dont agree/care about my opinions or knowledge: gtfo from this topic in case you're tempted to bullshit it.
