ORvR Performance

Just a quick questions regarding ORvR performance these days. I remember back on Live that in large keep fights you'd be somewhere in the 30 and under fps range even on high end rigs. I'm currently running a OC'd i7 5820k and a GTX 1080 and noticed in a larger keep fight in T2 I had around the 30 FPS. Just wondering if this is still the norm now a days for large fights or if I should be looking at tweaking some graphic settings to get better performance?

Some of the performance issues with the client are likely to be the result of RoR being only a partial approximation of the real server. By this I mean that the communication received from the RoR server differs from that of the real one, with parts missing or unknown, and the client may misbehave as a result of this.

I personally run on fastest framerate, but still get semi-terrible fps, but I also get less crashes. Your GPU most likely won't ever go past 20%, same for CPU. Client/Engine problem? or just the outdated-ness of the game? Wasn't really a performance geek at the time I played on live, so have nothing to compare too.

I did notice that performance in 1080p vs 4k was very similar, but I didn't test this in RvR that much. Maybe Aza's explanation is a part of the framerate issues.

It seems like GFX card isn't nearly as important as your CPU in big fights. CPU speed hasn't really gone up that much in recent years, they've just been slapping more and more cores on which really doesn't help in gaming at all. But, i think most of the problems are with the optimization of the game. Hopefully these guys can figure out the client and smooth some things out in the future.

when all packets are decoded and each purpose of every package is exactly known, maybe it will run better. but im no tech guy. im just trying to imagine this as good as possible. :)

I appreciate all the dev effort on this. Really it's not a knock on how the EMU is running at all. Like I said on live it didn't matter how good your computer was, large keep fights killed your FPS period.
