Have you considered telling people how you think people are supposed to play? Saves all the guessing.Hargrim wrote:I have no issue with people guessing, correctly or not, how system works. And transparency would for sure reduce the number of attempts to play the system. Obviously.
It still is pretty simple. If a system can be played, it will be played. If you reveal the system or not, is not really important. If you dont, people will figur out what is working by trial and error. I know even some people who only play games to find out how to play the system, to publish it and quit the game afterwards. That how it has been and it always will be. To expect the players not to do that is nothing but idealistic. You onl will get more frustrated because it will happen no matter what you try..

I'm sure I mentioned somewhere that 15 minute dips are my preferred way.Fallenkezef wrote:Have you considered telling people how you think people are supposed to play? It has an unpleasant consequence of discouraging xrealming to help the underdog or switching to an alt to help your team, but it's a minor issue.Hargrim wrote:What loophole do we have with removal of all contribution when you change characters now?
Loophole most of us are referring too is caused by 2 things:
1) Overdog/underdog penalty/bonus, which, judging from experience, effectively nullifies contribution.
2)Unaviability of Genesis/Subjigator gear by any other means. Mostly Genesis.

Those are potential issues. Loophole is something different.Shooshpanzerer wrote:It has an unpleasant consequence of discouraging xrealming to help the underdog side, but it's a minor issue.Hargrim wrote:What loophole do we have with removal of all contribution when you change characters now?

Re: ORVR Purple bags
If i understand you correctly, the main issue is - if your side is the underdog, the most reasonable course of actions in terms of loot is to abandon zone and let the enemy lock it, because underdog bonus >>>>> contribution.Hargrim wrote:Those are potential issues. Loophole is something different.

How did I strawman? I responded to the exact option he proposed with a very much realistical prediction of the outcome of such a change. And seeing as you pretty much seemed to agree with that option, how the hell can you say it obviously doesn't work??Fallenkezef wrote:Would you like a hat and carrot for your strawman?lefze wrote:You do realize that would mean full BiS gear for any good player in two days or so? You would litterally have to remove the whole bag system.Fallenkezef wrote:
Most other mmos have a similar system. Hardcore players get gear quickly, casuals get it eventualy.
We are discussing options. Obviously the curreny system is not compatible with scaled loot according to commitment.
However there is no way of predicting how things evolve. Devs could end up scrapping current system entirely for summat else down the line
Edit: For some reason Theseus post won't get included in the quote and I'm not gonna bother fixing it, but whatever.

The loophole in the current implementation are the people who log underdog, do nothing (like kill 3 people) and log out after 15 minutes. This thing will be addressed soon.Shooshpanzerer wrote:If i understand you correctly, the main issue is - if your side is the underdog, the most reasonable course of actions in terms of loot is to abandon zone and let the enemy lock it, because underdog bonus >>>>> contribution.Hargrim wrote:Those are potential issues.
