This is a video of someone setting a macro to test the gcd on a 100x spam per second scorched earth. As you can see from the combat logs. Instant cast ability over a 10s period has a gcd longer than here. You get 6 gcd in each 10s of the combat log. So gcd is around 1.5. Im willing to think it is 1.5 just like wow or 1.4 to allow for lag. This is why its bursty. DD classes are putting out more burst here than live.
Nothing wrong with a shorter gcd. One complaint was war was slow. Damage needs to be adjusted to it though.
PVP seems a bit too 'bursty'.

If tanks really need such an ability then they should have it in their kit, and not get it via a renown ability.porkstar wrote:I would agree that RD is less of an issue than CW although cc immunities are pretty long.Dalgrimar wrote: I kinda feel RD and CW isnt THAT healthy but RD is very needed for tank class tbh.

Its no surprise that the new renowns were added in 1.4.0. The patch of doom. Everything about that patch should be expunged from history.

Re: PVP seems a bit too 'bursty'.
Video is pointless. The WAR client will block an ability until the GCD is up if it receives input within 1.14s of the GCD's invocation. You can clearly see his configuration is designed to spam input at 100Hz, so he will invoke the block and all his GCDs will be 1.5s. This also happens on RoR.Telen wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3yxPJXqiD4

You get a shorter GCD by invoking your next ability between 1.15s and 1.5s of the GCD's timer.
Re: PVP seems a bit too 'bursty'.
Well that is either a bug or most likely the ability queue that you did have on live. You could queue abilities slightly but they wouldnt cast. I certainly couldnt cast abilities that were lower than the gcd faster no matter what. As Ive said even the lead developers word is the gcd is 1.4s. Take it or leave it but that is why burst is higher.Azarael wrote:Video is pointless. Just tested it here and if you spam abilties it doesnt raise the gcd to where it should be.

Re: PVP seems a bit too 'bursty'.
RD and CW shouldnt exist imo but to remove them alot of other stuff would need to change, they cover the cracks of a flawed combat system.
As telen said i would love to see the old renown point system but doing so i believe the old CC duration of dps classes would need to come in as kd - dead would be all to common.
As for the gcd talk, there definitely is something funny about it, on live if i timed it right i could skip gcd on my slayer by using deep wound just after using a skill where the animation worked off the left hand weapon, same here on ror for my choppa, i can skip gcd by using cant stop da chop after using a skill with a short animation, been a while since i played either of these classes so to confirm exactly how and what skills to use before using heal debuff i would have to check.

The gcd was exactly 1,4 seconds on live. The fact that abilities unlock earlier has the reason that you can queue abilities and cast them the moment the gcd goes off.Azarael wrote:Video is pointless. Everyone who played on live knows how the gcd was. This is causing the confusion when we are told that it is 1,14.

Dying is no option.
Re: PVP seems a bit too 'bursty'.
Totally agree. I run with RD and CW as I'm more or less used to do so to level the playing field, but there should be no place for abilities like this. Very much like armour pots should be removed, or at least severely toned down.saupreusse wrote:I hate it too with all my heart and soul. A witch hunter was hitting me for 2500+ last SC.. Yeah, that's way too bursty, especially considering many toons have under 5000 health. That means you are 2 shotted at the most.
WAY too bursty IMO. Dmg should be globally reduced by around 15-20%, that would put those hits around 2K, at least a chance to do something.. Not much, but at least the chance is there.

Many scenarios has double damage mechanics, like logrins forge for instance when you cap both objectives you get a 30 sec buff. Isha has the warball, cemetery has same mechanic as logrins.Kobra wrote:A witch hunter was hitting me for 2500+ last SC..
