Keep capture, Old vs New
Re: Keep capture, Old vs New
Where is the problem with the new system AND additional keep guards around the flag?

I'm for the old system with the keep guards. Was nice when a guild would declare it their own and deck out everything to ready it's defense.

Also I made a poll for this.

Re: Keep capture, Old vs New
I think the new system was more about farming renown and gearing up fast. Nothing else really.
The old system, on the other hand, was about the essence of WAR. It was about the epic siege battles and the real struggle it would be to actually even take the keep. It was about RvR on a massive scale, holding stairs with a line of tanks etc. PURE EPICNESS!
I vouch for the old system for sure!

It might be difficult to mix old and new system, because both have their flaws. Adding keep guards to the new system might be the easiest way.Razid1987 wrote:I think the new system was more about farming renown and gearing up fast. Nothing else really.

Really? Where? I'd love to voteStkillinger wrote:Also I made a poll for this.
The best would be the new lock system with move-able siege items but old keep upgrade system, where you can increase the number of guards and much more, when you have claimed the keep for your guild.

Yes, goes without saying - Old system. Defense or attack were much more epic!

Never needed a wb to take a keep unless it was @ peak way ya want it it'll be nothing but renown farm+gate goes down defense is over.napalm666666 wrote:Kaitanaroyr wrote:that made the lowbie zones important reason you would have people logging on to t3 ect to help flip a zone increasing the pop in those teirs.Arslan wrote:Well, let's make a poll. I liked the old system much more, it required REAL strategy and people actually reading the chat. But is it actually possible to rollback on an earlier patch on the client? I remember epic wipes and rage-quits and I wanna see that again. On the other hand, VP system was lame. Remember the "prior tier" and "pve" factors?? When both keeps fall no matter the bos etc the zone should flip.
That was dumb, T4 shudent "need" a lower act to be able to lock, and hey, remember this is a very SMALL comunity we wount be close as the live server even was, so they gotta make a game that works with a smaller base of players.
So T3 would just dont work, and keep lords/guards would make it so that only time we can do keeps is at server peak time, when we can form a wardband so 60%+ of the time we can only take BO's and gotta skip the keeps.

I really miss standing in the corner of the keep and trying to keep our shield wall alive.
I remember this one time we were outnumbered and we were defending one keep in Etaine and they REALLY wanted that keep.I think we were defending at least 2-3hours before we realized the other guilds had almost opened Altdorf but they were still there and trying to get this keep.I don't know why they wanted it so much but.... They never got it.The moment Altdorf was open they left.
It makes me wanna cry and laugh and just be happy that that happend.

After all this memories you have brought in, the possibility to do guerilla and wreck the enemy's morale when he tried to lock a zone, I say: OLD SYSTEM ALL THE WAY!!
Also I prefet doorhammer than waithammer. On old system you could actually have no ram and still wreck the doors. In new system, the guy with the ram could be killed, have dc, be x-realmer, the ram itself could be bugged by skaven (I always hated them) and so many other things that made sieges lamer than ever.
