The Warhammer aesthetic has changed drastically over the years, having the entire world reworked in the Older editions of the game. The Boars that were seen in the 1st edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay were eliminated as a mount for Dwarfs, many things in the Warhammer Fantasy RP games showed up that weren't supported by the final versions of Warhammer Fantasy. (Sea elves, and Non-descript elves are pefect examples.)
While Black Industries was fairly good at tying together the warhammer fantasy world in the form of 2nd edition (much better than FFGs disgracful 3rd), they developed the game for run of the mill adventurers, not heroes and soldiers.
The characters that are played in RoR are regimented soldiers of their race's respective army, not some eccentric adventurer. There is a reason why you don't see any dwarf armies use cavalry, they don't trust em, regardless of the inherent benefits (This is the dwarf mentality). This isn't the Warhammer of the 80s or even the 90s (OldHammer), this isn't Age of Sigmar (though Age of Sigmar does not invalidate what happened during age of the Old World i.e RoR's timeframe).
Playing the game for any amount of time will reveal that, posting pictures of 3rd party production material from the 80s does not counter my arguments about modern Old World Dwarfs.
Show me an entry from a 6th edition- 8th edition Dwarf Army book that allows any form of mount option (aside from those mentioned by Genisaurus) and I will drop my stance.
