Couple class questions (Sorc/Mara)

Sorc:
-Do they have a good single target build that is also viable/wanted for end game PvP? I want to be able to focus and delete a person (healer) quickly.

Mara:
Since my son is playing DoK, I was interested also in Mara. How are they atm? Destro seems to have a lot of melee so was also concerned about that.
Do they have many positional attacks? What are their pros/cons and how do they compare with choppa for endgame (city, RvR)

Might even consider doing Chosen, but heard they aren’t as good anymore as Destro has a ton of tanks already.
