item disappeared

Hi, I bought a Bandit Queen helm from a player today and had it mailed CoD to my banker toon. That toon got the item and sent it to my kotbs. I saw it in the mail, clicked "take items" as usual but then the item wasn't in my inventory. I'm sue I didn't delete the message before opening it or any such blunder. I wonder has anyone else experienced something like this? The helm was surprisingly cheap (2 g), but still it hurts to lose an item and not having a clue what happened.
