I don’t know what BO is like at higher rr (nor do I really know how SM play, despite them being the Order counterpart to the Black Orc), but 2H BO just feels so lacklustre at the moment which is kind of sad since 2h BO is aesthetic af. It feels like you lose out on so much when going 2H while not gaining much in return. I mean sure you look cool as hell, choppin’ away at people with a massive 2h but it won’t count for much if you get blown away 3 seconds later when the enemy range dps so much as look at you.
SnB DPS Borc on the other hand is amazing. You maintain a hell of a lot of pressure as a melee assist , SNARES 4 DAYS (I know this isn’t just limited to SnB), another guard to throw out, Hold the Line and previously mentioned YSMBD. Basically Black Orc’s I feel are in a really good place right now and are only going to get better (especially since Black Guard is being improved and Chosen is being scaled back a bit).
SnB Borc is love
SnB Borc is life
PS: I’d be interested to see if the Devs will ever make RiDJ an interrupt/knock up in the future.
Is there any point rolling a Black Orc if I have a Swordmaster already?

SnB BO is much more survivable, an has greater utility with access to things like you missed me and HTL while still putting out strong/good dps
Also, its not that viable currently as you are allot more squashy but at rr100 to me it was allot more viable.
It gets better around rr60-70.

Everything was a lot more viable at rr100 tho. OP gear and all that.
Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king!
Re: Is there any point rolling a Black Orc if I have a Swordmaster already?
Exactly, Borc have excellent SnB build and set up right now and will be viable with 2H with later gear (even doable now with premade)
SM doesn't get better... the tiny dot you get from your tactic doesn't scale when everyone's at 8/6k... i mean what other dps tactic can SM take?
EA, PE, or god forbid FO? On Borc, you have so many choices depending on your place style

Because in all semi competitive environment most SM damage is not from ED but from the tactics EA and PE and Blurring Shock. All 3 of them either do not scale at all or very poorly with rank, stats and mastery points invested. Whereas the BO had most of his damage from actual abilities and debuffs (ST dmg dropoff thus becomes less of a thing). And with the overall lowering of crit BS and ST will become even less powerful.Earthpac wrote:How come their damage drops off? Ontopic: A well played BO is a better tank than a well played SM. Especially for the long term towards rr80 itemization since SM damage will simply flat out plummit.
However you should play whichever realm and/or character you prefer (keep in mind that single faction lockout seems to be a very serious thing that is deemed to happen).
If single faction lockout happens would it also have a system to stop people just making a different account for the other faction? That pretty much ties me to order for the moment though I guess.
And also, people seem to be saying that BO's have even more burst than SM's at the current level where SM's actually debuff resists to 0, is that right?
At the moment on my 31 SM I usually combo BS, Taunt, SS, WoH, ED (using 2 shifts before engaging for BS) which gets unguarded mdps or casters in the 20% or so range pretty quick, can BO's match that burst even without the spirit damage synergy?
Ofc no worries since such a thing will not really be a problem until invader gear is released and Aza already stated he is aware that it is an expected problem which we can proactively counter.
