A fifth tactic slot would absolutely annihilate any balan-

Tactics and tactic sets should be used for swapping, depending on situation, like offense, defense, pve, small and large scale, whatever... Having more active tactics means you have less variety, but that's one of RoRs strongest advantages imo.

Apart from that swapping in combat could be a thing, but in organized SC groups or small RvR groups you already have that by just leaving combat or respawning together. Easy in SC play, doable in RvR, too. Swapping without any disadvantage would lead to imbalance.

Just add it in game and test it. All kind of odd stuff gets implemented so why not test this as well? Maybe you get weird new fotm setups and meta changes, and if some classes rise too much above others they get some nerfs and the rest of the classes might have easier time justifying some buffs.
If a class has good 7-10 tacics to pick from, maybe some of them get altered a bit downwards. If a class struggles to find 4th tactic to act as filler, maybe buff some currently unused tactic.

It could've been fun as a weekendly or weekly event:

Empowered by the power of Sigmar and Tzeentch, 6 tactic slots madness, 50% increased rr from fighting at BOs.
Additional randomized champions (the highest rr guy in a zone during the roll for it), gets 100% to offensive and defensive stats and his size is larger.

I believe it should be not about getting "mediocre" ones into play with 5th slot, but actually bringing them in line with other options. Separate tactic slots for different tactics... could work, but there gonna be a lot of thought to be put into design of that.

negative: i dont think that would help ppl to use more diverse tactics. quite the opposite: in most cases i can already think of picking 5 "obligatory tactics" as i wouldnt have to pick 4 out of 5 or 6. it would lead to less diversity imo

Questions like this make me wonder if I'm playing the same game as everyone else.

If anything should be added related to tactics, it should be an additional 10 tactic sets. Tactics are the primary determinant of your functionality, and as a result, you should be constantly switching between sets to get the most out of your character. Five has never been enough, and it gets really tedious having to switch out individual tactics to attack a given situation. Would love to have a set for Lord killing, but since you can usually get out of combat and have time to manually switch them out, that's not going to take priority over something like a WECounter, CleanseBot, or TrainWreck setup.
