Improving the 2H blackguard playstyle

Just like a BO going for most damage will spec Brawler/Toughest and forfeit the AoE snare and AoE WS buff (or ignore the KD and just go full Greenest for a Shut Yer Face! build)

To be fair that dps build is super legit now, with the bugged double WS fixed an AoE snare is not all that special to go up an otherwise lackluster boss tree

May I ask why you want a KD attached to Monstrous Ruin instead of just putting it on BoR?

It's a spammable AoE snare which also debuffs Str and disorients for 25%. Not to mention it helps SnB BOs get Bellow procs (their only other AoE attacks in SnB are Waaagh! which is useless, and Big Slash, their AoE punt; no good BO spams that). It is very useful when enemy melee train pushes your backlines. I like using Unstoppable Juggernaut with it. Something like this:

Not nearly as much burst as a Brawler/Toughest, but you are not focusing on damage. Just keep enemies perma-snared, buff your groups WS by 128 (therefore buffing their damage; let them get the kills), stat steal everything from your enemies, use CD increaser when necessary, and build your morale super fast. I loved this spec on live. And if you pay attention, i had to give up a KD for it.

Either would be fine really, if it was attached to the tactic, BG AoE would be a little more viable, but you would have to be able to have access to Spiteful Slam, if that can be done. If you put a KD on BoR, that would open up another tactic slot, which could make the 2h BG more OP than originally intended?

But not a Silence, yes not all specs are going to mean that you get ALL of your toys, the fact that DYG /CW is now a 9 point spec is absolutely amazing for BO and SMs, I think this was a smart move, as it allows SMs to go the viable 2h spec and get CC, and BOs can go glass cannon and keep one of their hardest hitting skills (SnB Killa with DyG is awesomesauce too)

But a 2hander BG can't have a 2h KD in the 2h tree, I have already said it, but no one has refuted me, The BG giving up an additional 2 seconds on their KD, on the most difficult to trigger KD in the game, spec able or not is already worth the trade, considering all other factors i.e giving up shield.

it's unique as no other class has this kind of KD, it's not a mirror, you give up alot to get it, and it makes the iconic blackguard more viable. This kind of change sets a good precedent to help classes that have useless abilities that need a bit of buffing.

And even if the BG does get the: 3s proc on a parry 2h only KD... SnB DPS BG is still the better choice, so I don't get all the whining.

Not really since much like SnB bg, you have so many good tactics to choose from that regardless you would still have to give up something like

Hastened doom
Crit on hate
Rugged
Undetautable
soul killer
Focused offensive
Shielding anger + endless pursuit combo

Soul Killer + Choking Fury > Silence. Silence shares immunity with KD, so it is better to use a KD on your target (also, silenced characters can still use potions while KD can't). And if he is still alive when he gets up, he will already have SK and CF on him. If BoR is changed to a KD with no other requirement, a BG would be able to do all that by himself.

wtf? Anyone suggesting Focused Offense is a good tactic is... ughh, come on Cory, don't make me say it!

The only times i use FO is if i am in a premade, join a SC and notice that all my enemies are lowbies, have no healers, or are just plain bad. Then yeah go for it: Focused Offense, 2H, and have fun. But other than that, FO is a big NO-NO.
