Heh, sorry man, wasn't sure where you were coming from in this. Yeah, the best way to understand a lot of what myself an others were saying is to just get in game and nail down all the different mechanics. I tend to practice new ideas on PvE mobs, experimenting around with stuff to better understand it. Here's the basic lowdown:
You get your first mastery point (as they're called) at level 11, which you can train up at any trainer or with the "anywhere trainer" addon. Thereafter, you'll get another one every few levels, and they pick up to one a level somewhere in the 20s. You gotta get up to each ability level on the tree, then spend an extra point to buy the ability or tactic (which you get 1 slot for at levels 11, 20, 30 and 40). That career builder I linked to you is a great tool for playing around with builds beforehand, I use it a good bit as do a lot of other folks.
As for the Sword and Board vs 2H: Pretty much what TenTon said. Hoeth gives you the option for either as there's no abilities that require a Shield or Great Weapon to use, unlike Khaine or Vaul respectively. You've pretty much got the gist of it:
Khaine-Offfense
Vaul-Defense
Hoeth-Mixed/antimagic/group utility
Even though I'm a dedicated 2H guy, I still have to go SnB for extra survivability sometimes, especially when guarding Melee DPS like slayers. You can block and parry some of the damage you split with them and believe me, it makes a big difference. I'd keep both weapons sets handy.
You can always send em a /w in-game if you have any questions, I'm usually on Scissor or my WL Sporkfight these days.

I've also took the time to read to check that builder out and I have to say, the PoH build is a really sweet path, especially that master ability "shadow blades" daaayum. My english is not the best... but it should work like anything else if you have a routine.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP GUYS! I really appreciate it!

Lots of love and sincerly regards, your Imeriath. P.S. May we be on the same side on the battliefild, otherwise give me at least a honorable fight.

I am playing a SM aswell and kinda like the class. I checked waronlinebuilder and i saw that BO can use every brawler skill beside a tactic with snb. It does not requirer a great weapon. Even three hit combo. Was that always the case?
If so it would be nice if SM could use either dance aswell with snb. Atleast to have the possibilty.

Re: Swordmaster build, I need help (I hope I'm right here)
Ether dance is not so powerful even with a 2h, it would be just pointless to use it on a faster weapon. Hope things get better with t4 becouse on current tier i tested both khaine and hoeth with a full str build and the sustained damage was almost the same. Ether dance (in combination with taunt) was adding just a bit more burst, but the loss of PoH and Aeth Arm, my only defensive skills (apart from the crappy aoe kb) was making me a glass cannon. Even if the tooltip damage is quite higher than Bf, the absence of aa during the channeled attack and some interrupt negating part or all the damage was compensating even too much.

Ether dance becomes stronger as you get more crit chance as well as more points in Heoth to decrease spirit resist more
