My advice while grinding would be to get some points in corruption to toughen yourself up and make sure you've got warped flesh slotted. It absorbs a reasonable amount of mob hits while you're levelling.

Use the quests in Emp/Chaos to level faster, they ramp up your xp.
When you see there's ORvR fighting join the pug warband and help out, even if it means standing on a BO so your keep ranks faster. During a siege when defending, spam your hold the line so your rdps can shoot gits, when attacking, man the ram or HtL so you can get those sweet nowns.

From level 20 you'll be able to help out a bit in any tier, sure you're not god mode but every bit helps and you'll achieve a damn sight more than running around as a lowbie.

No, the Magus isn't the best ST burst of all classes. It's not bad but it's far from the best.

DoK is still meta in group format because it's still and by far the best group healer with the best group based stuff. Zealot is a good healer although and fun to play.

Name me a class that can deal more burst than a Havoc Magus who is played optimally with most of his abilities critting, plus pet damage in the back.

I'll wait! 8-)

Let's start with a Witch Elff ?
May be a WL, who knows.
Forgot the WE's best buddy, the Bitches Hunter.
Deeps Marauder anyone?

I'm not saying it's bad Peter but the best burst from all classes, as claimed by kkprfx?

And ranged wise I'll still take out my Sorc for pure burst as I still need alignment and twice the time from scratch with my Havoc Magus.

None of those classes (bar Sorc) can get potentially 6.5-7.5k+ within a single timestamp. That is the definition of burst.

Ok.
There's no point, clearly.
Hiding back in my little hole.
