Freeing up names from inactive characters?
I remember reading about the possibility that some very old inactive, low level, characters could be deleted in order to free up some names. It would be a great idea since nowadays you have to be pretty creative in order to come up with a name that has not yet been taken (often as a placeholder).

I had this the other day, sat there for 30 minutes trying to find a name that wasn't giberish.
Why not just change the name format to include multiple caps throughout, numbers, spaces and symbols. This could solve the problem without having to delete any characters.

I mean if you see this, since it is clearly a character on whom the player spent a lot of time, I would agree in keeping it even if it was on an inactive account. The player could return and it would be sad for him to see his character disappear

But if you see this, a lvl 1/ rnw 1 and it is part of an account that has not logged on since years, it would really benefit the community if it was deleted. After a brief research on the armory, the best, most lore appropriate names are taken by idle accounts and lvl 1, placeholder characters. That leaves us with absurd names that frankly are not very good to see around the rvr lakes.

Personally, I would really appreciate to be able to use my actual name in-game but it is take by an idle goblin sh (lol)

should be a requirement level 1-5 - R0-5 characters get a name reset if inactive for a week, characters who have reached level 17 - R20 and is inactive for 3 weeks gets their name reset, characters who are level 30 - R38 and is inactive for 8 weeks gets a name reset, characters who are level 40 - R40 and are in active for a year gets a name reset, characters who are level 40 - R78 has a permanent name
