DPS AM hither and thither
The Experimental AM healer I think is clearly more effective and potent than the older version. What is the sense of the wise of the DPS AM? Do you prefer the experimental DPS AM or the prior model?

Uh, its safe to say that everyone, but maybe the few players that do not want to touch on <potentially> overperforming stuff (that they make out by comparing it to how difficault certain stuff was on live, and how "skillful" you had to be back then), will wholeheartedly opt for .ab ex AM > stock AM; both in terms of DPS aswell as HPS.
The stock model makes it nigh impossible to actually play to the initial design of the class as hybrid - having the ability to offer relatively respectable offheal whilst being in full glass/roam spec outdoes the viability and utility of the stock by margins that are beyond good and evil.
As in: the wonkyness of mythics intial design had no limits to it - the .ab ex is ultimately a boon, it is THE reason as to why AM (SHA respectively) can stem their weight on RoR without breaking their mind in the process. Moreso, the .ab ex is most likely the only reason why DPS AMs don't get as much **** as they got back on life, as they now can manage to blend in - especially decent DPS AMs hardly ever - if ever - get to see complaints anymore.
The reworked mechanics of the .ab ex have upped the sustained dps and the burst by alot, and allowed for more viable, more balanced and more fun specs alltogether.
However, the elaboration above, in regards to the playerbase's perception, should in any case convince you of goodness that .ab ex resembles.

Re: DPS AM hither and thither
dissipating energies, heal debuff, dispel magic, storm, law of gold. tactics divine fury, 10% crit, dispel magic and centuries of training (swap centuries for 10% undefendable if against good healers)
max dps, and if you already have a heal am in group to provide the aoe snare. Uber DPS if played well/good gear. Dissipating energies on a spirit debuffed target (i usually put it on our SM) = gg.

Re: DPS AM hither and thither
Just a few things:
It makes hybrid viable, and it lets healer specced AMs put out a short burst of dps (you'll get disrupted a lot tho), or dps specced ones heal others (not themselves) almost like a true healer (as long as you have the points).
In other words, if you played dps with the old spec, the new one wont affect you dpswise (but it will let you heal your group much better)
As for centuries of training, it scales horribly, and only procs on dd...so no. Its fine in t2 when you have nothing else to slot, in t4..... forget it. Same problem with dispel magic : dd only
Try DF, crit, DO, and X for 4th...healcrit, Isha's encouragament, run btwn worlds, desperation, or whatever you like depending on your needs (sc or roaming, solo/grp, etc)

The experimental mode wont 'up' your dps at all , unless youre willing to cast 5 heals in between every rotation... in which case youre not dps anymore. The reworked mechanics of the .ab ex have upped the sustained dps and the burst by alot, and allowed for more viable, more balanced and more fun specs alltogether.

Re: DPS AM hither and thither
Proccing on DD isnt an issue as long as you're playing the dps am properly, and not just spamming dots: you have 4/5 DD abilities you should be incorporating in a dps rotation against single opponents. Centuries can be disposed of in favour of the 10% undefendable, but dispel magic procs a hell of a lot during lance/fury/searing touch combos, and is essentially a ranged shatter that can negate a lot of healing/buffs.

1. Zealots and DoKs operate with blessings, so it wont do anything to their stuffpeterthepan3 wrote:Proccing on DD isnt an issue as long as you're playing the dps am properly, and not just spamming dots: you have 4/5 DD abilities you should be incorporating in a dps rotation against single opponents. 2. Lance has the exact same dmg as laser, but with a cast time (you can use laser on the run for the 1st tick before its interrupted),fury has even less, with limited range...If you start spamming lance/fury you wont be able to keep up the dots for the full duration of laser (searing touch)
3. Unless you have a solid group, most of the time you can't afford to stand still and spam lance/fury...positioning with dps AM is probably more important than most classes, you're a destromagnet.
Having said all that, I encourage everyone to play, experiment with builds, rotations, instead of blindly following whatever you read on the forums.
Nothing is set in stone
