Nothing reduce guard damagee in terms of mitigration as far as i know. You can block it, and parry it and absorb it, thats it.Tesq wrote:for what i know is the only thing which reduces guard dmg since armor dont.roadkillrobin wrote:Since when does toughness affect guard damage?

I dont think BG needs any of these things to make him the same as BO or Chosen. Its his own class he does his own thing, if you want a chosen play a chosen. If you want to run into the caster line of the enemy and completely shut it down, then play BG.

Looks like someone didnt bother reading anything posted in this thread. Not 1 person said "make him the same as BO or Chosen". So unsure why this was even mentioned...Drudge wrote:I dont think BG needs any of these things to make him the same as BO or Chosen. Also "If you want to run into the caster line of the enemy and completely shut it down" just LOL in RVR this would never happen. You cant shut anything down as you will get punted, KD, nuked or ignored. Bg is zero threat to a backline (by himself) in RVR.
There is a reason (many actually) BGs are never taken in serious warbands, and if they are its due to them not having another Chosen or BO to bring. Hence this thread.
if you want to post before reading anything, go right ahead, but it doesnt add any value to this conversation and only makes you look silly

Re: [BG] Utility discussion
I dont think its silly I find it constructive, maybe i exagurated slightly but im trying to be lively instead of boring. Im simply trying to highlight the strengths of the class. Ifyour gonna run a melee train then dont use a BG bring a BO, but if your gonna bring a couple sorcs n magus along, throw the BG in there and run with it. But hey im not trying to be serious dude im just playing video games.

Re: [BG] Utility discussion
I posted a suggestion regarding DP back in February before the Balance&Suggestion forums were closed, any idea if there is any hope that some of them may be discussed one day? Not expecting miracles, but still hoping for anything.Torquemadra wrote:The BG is a very good tank but in a team centric game is does lag behind in what it gives the group as a whole, the premise was a reverse IB, while the IB gives buffs the BG was to take them from the "dark protector" he had chosen which, like the pet class tank design for the White lion (swordmaster was to be the dps) fell down so they made it feed hate and give minimal buffs from the BG.Drudge wrote:I dont think its silly I find it constructive, maybe i exagurated slightly but im trying to be lively instead of boring. On its own, its excellent, group wise the other tanks all offer more, the IB gives 8 buffs (cursory glance) to its oath friend while the BG offers two, and not very good ones.
Still, you never know what I may get up to.

Thanks for this Torq. The fact you actually still read this deep in a thread shows me a lot about your desire for this gameTorquemadra wrote:The BG is a very good tank but in a team centric game is does lag behind in what it gives the group as a whole, the premise was a reverse IB, while the IB gives buffs the BG was to take them from the "dark protector" he had chosen which, like the pet class tank design for the White lion (swordmaster was to be the dps) fell down so they made it feed hate and give minimal buffs from the BG.Drudge wrote:I dont think its silly I find it constructive, maybe i exagurated slightly but im trying to be lively instead of boring. Also the fact that you clearly highlighted the issue, tells me you know the problem. Hopefully we have given you something for your creative juices to flow!

Worst case, client control comes and you get to insert one of your fancy Uber Dev Abilities onto the class LOL... Either way... atleast you do know the issue, so that makes me feel good

If you take rdps in a 132 ranged group, the tank they will take is chosen b/c resists debuff aura
