Well, SW was completely broken with UF, and even after it was removed it performed too well. The nail in the coffin was the CQ fix, but as I have shown here you can still make it work at around the level it was before the fix. And while slayer potentially can put out more damage, as you say in tight spots, SW doesn't have that limitation. And there are a lot of tight spots where SW is gonna outperform slayer anyways, simply due to the fact that they have 65ft range. And again, there is also the whole morale aspect. Slayer can't assist on let's say a BH dump, SW can.

Edit: And LA+Barrage burst is nothing to scoff at, especially if you commit to the spec and take No respite.
I tried all versions use SW :)

Try exp SL :) it will be fun for you. All you need is 40/50 :)

Eh, Slayer still brings a lot more AOE utility outside of damage. I'd take a good IB+Slayer for No Escape, Shatter Limbs, ID, etc. over a SW in a niche setup.

Kind of obvious Slayer is AOE kings (6man)

All rdps may be countered with 45% avoidance from HTL.

ID for spreading aoe procs and 20s 100% avoidance bypass every 30s. Cherry on top is Shatter Limbs for BL pressure

A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

1 or 2 slayers are enough for that.

OP should specfiy format and group setup, and at best stop trying to determine things in a vacuum.

If OP now picks up a Slayer and runs it solo-pugging about...yeah, have fun with that 'performance', especially whilst bombing. All things considered, I guess 'no bw/sorc' means OP is sick of blowing himself up due to a lack of support.
Surely I could be wrong, but one cannot emphasize enough that its groupplay or bust - on some classes, more than on others - if peak performance is what is being looked for, vacuum hypotheticals serve no purpose and only get you so far.

HTL works, cheap d/d from renown and anything with any willpower disrupts most attacks. So it was BW its now SL.

Well now things are just getting ridiculous, BW and slayer don't even play the same game, BW is just that far ahead.

The damage is nice and all, but it's so damn visible, way too easy to just walk out of.

Bear in mind, that most players play with all effects off, or, just doesn't care and stand in it.
