I spent a few hours researching this on old pvp videos. Obviously as most are epeen look at me pwn people I literally found no case of a wh or we snaring in this fashion, I did however find one that I believe debunks it. I played a WH pretty late in the game, after RR100 was released. Was in T3 when RR100 patch dropped. Leveled all the way up to renown 100 over the next few months and Snap shot snared from any angle with feinted positioning activated. It was the only way to catch strafe kiters.
When I started playing WH on this server I used this combination out of instinct because it was expected behavior. Unless there is patch notes from live somewhere stating it was changed after I stopped playing (probably 6ish months before game shutdown) FP+Snapshot was working to snare from any angle.

WH/WE aren't necessarily meant to catch kiters. Your options are to attack out of stealth and then:
1. Finish the target before the kd is over.
2. Use one of your immunities (snare, 100% Disrupt, renown cc imunity ability) to evade the target's cc and finish them at melee range.
3. If you are a WH you could use EW or Absolution to finish them at 30 ft.
4. If they still get away, then you have to do things the hard way. You try to snare. If that fails you burn your heal (and absorb) pots and cleanse while positioning to Flee to break line of sight when your stealth has 10 seconds until the cd is over. If you break line of sight, then you can ap pot and re-stealth and either take a second shot, knowing that everything is on cd, or you head for the hills and learn from the experience.
On the topic of being able to use FP to enable the snare, that's a decision for the devs. There isn't an overwhelming argument supporting either option. So it really comes down to a toss of the coin and the devs have that coin.

As WAR is a team oriented game, other players can snare the kiter for you. It is your own mistake to be out of range and visible against a kiter in a 1on1. In a 2on1 there are enough options to get the right angle to snare.
Dying is no option.

Bla Bla Bla, mostly of comments there are just pointless and to take advantages over WE's or WH's. Feinted Position deleted the requeriment of ANY positining skill, and when i say ANY im talking about torment, agonizing wound and the "snares". same goes for sacrificial stab, and burn away lies. this nerf is just pointless. nerf then AW,torment, bal and sacrificial stab too then because Feinted Positioning applies the same effect on it. now go to talk about group play,tanks snaring and rdps wanting to be usain bolt without any trouble for em.

You nerds should be using flowing accusations anyways, just practice praying to RNG if you don't get 3 or 4 procs in a row you should spend a couple hours every day practicing so you can pull of sick stuff like that on a regular basis.
You got witch hunters on the server I know logging in at 3 am just to practice their flowing accusation procs for hours when the server is empty on PvE mobs, and they are the best on the server for that reason and dedication to the game, and you guys just want some kind of EZ mode free ranged snare that is going to bring down the skill ceiling as a whole for the class and negate the gap between casuals and pro players? Give me a break.

I dont see why the nerf was necessary.
As a WH playing in NA its already hard enough to hit my target. Sure you can jump them from incog and stun but as soon as they start moving its almost impossible to hit them unless i pop FP and hit them with ranged snare. Most of the time im standing right on top of my target and still cant hit them.
I don't have any concrete proof of what happened and when this change occured on live, but all i know is this "Nerf" just made it alot harder for people dealing with the melee lag to hit their target.

Well I looked through all the major patch notes from 1.4.0 - 1.4.8 and I see no mention of any changes to Feinted Positioning in any of those .
I remember explicitly it working during the time I played 1.4.0(2010) until early 2012 and see no patch notes stating that it should not behave this way. I see the last few major patches had no class adjustments at all in fact. I looked at the "Combat and Careers" section when looking for changes to Feinted Positioning. I also did a page search for "Feinted" and "Snap" and could find no specific changes to these abilities from 1.4.0 on.
I remember SH/SW getting their self punts in 1.4.4(Sept 2011) and FP + snapshot + snare immunity being the absolute only way I could catch back up to them after they self punted away. Same situation with shaman after they use their knockback and sticky feetz. Any mouth breather can kite using only Q and E making snapshot and dagger throw totally worthless. Having to burn a 1 minute cooldown to make it work as intended due to strafe kiting(snare ranged runners hence the back requirement) was dumb enough in my opinion.

It allows positional attacks to be used. Throw Dagger doesn't require positions.

Word of Pain and Boiling Blood are no longer able to proc anything. The Bright Wizard College has confirmed this is a big deal. (stealth nerf)
