About breaking the lore:
i meant it more like the mount issue (that every mount was available to every race) we had in the past and stuff like that.
Or wrong armor types on chars.
Don't get me wrong, i'm all for introducing in new/unused textures into the game. But simply no lorebreaking stuff.

e.g.
archmage with alternate heavy armor texture = not ok
archmage with alternate armor in "cloth style" = ok
chosen with alternate khorne marauder armor (leather/medium style) = not ok
chosen with alternate khorne knight armor = ok
dwarf with swords = da fuq...

That's true, but i still don't see how this can harm anyone. From my experience i extract most of the info needed from buff/debuff panel and not from looking at how exactly my opponent waves his weapon around (which can be problematic in big fights with lots of combatants). There are exceptions of course (Rend Soul/Divine Assault/res come to mind), but again, i notice them more by their speed and duration, not by exact movements. However, this can be my way of playing and different for other players - in such case yeah, i can understand your point... And completely missing animations can be harmful too...

There is a precedent for all this, back on live, BG could have two handed swords, and the Black orcs could 'dual wield' The BG lost the two hander because it didn't fit and some of the animations were missing, but because the black orc had all his animations working he kept the dual wield appearance. The Marauder for example has all the animations, and had it's appearance for a two hander on live, which is why it stuck. Food for thought.

Makes more sense to see it that way; the WH is missing dual wield animations since they were never supposed to have dual wield; their animationns in dual wield are based on the Marauder's.

Looks more like the DoK animations to me when using 2 swords on the WH.

Also there has been an explosion of really crazy alt appearance bugs lately. When fixing these, is it a blanketed fix that will effect everything? Or do these bugs have to be fixed one at a time?

Do they really display for enemy players?
When game was live the only apearence you could modify that the other realm could see was colours.

2H swords for WH are awesome! Yes, a little bit weird (with a pistol), but cool. Animation of attacks seems like SW.
Who says "lorebreaking"? At this moment the only canon is the "Age of Sigmar". AoR was "The game based on..".
Mechanic of bugged alternate appearance still use standard prerequisites like only our side/race/class, I've never seen DE swords on orcs or daemon blades on kobses.

Yes, sometimes casual players are confused with BG "shield" and DoK "chalice" appearances.

Yes they display for enemy players, and it is better that way.

The problem with things like 2h on WH is that there are alot of missing animations, but then again aside from the **** godawful trial by pain there really isn't much you are going to be told from animations that will end up being more reliable than buffhead etc...

But lets take for instance a sorc using say a sword, and then HoR no longer has the beam (beacon for tanks to use taunt) this then actually becomes a very valid point as to why those appearances should be barred/banned/fixed etc...
