Re: Assist Macro

I still think it's the ST tanks that are hurt the moast from this as they are designed to debuffs and buff trough assisting. They sure can be played, but not optimally. I have done everything to make it less less of a struggle, with addons and targeting nearest etz And they just doesn't feel right.
So what i can understand all archetypes as struggeling a bit due to not having the assist function in the game, and it also promotes bombing over ST. Wouldn't it put it pretty high up on the list to fix?

Lifedrain Heals, Debuffs, Targeted Morales to name some things. Try playing a ranged class and targeting the same thing as your tanks When there's 12 enemies blobbing up.
As a healer you use no offensive morals.
As sham/am you won't silence the assist target but maybe one of the healers.
As zeal/rp you won't stagger the assist target and you have no valuable debuffs.

Basically you are talking about offensive specced caster-healers, which count as ranged dd. I don't disagree that an /assist macro would greatly help those classes, as tab targeting is too slow for rdd.
Dying is no option.

However, I could understand why people pugging or running in "pug-mades" would find it helpful.

When the Main Assist got added to Live it made melee trains godly powerful. Melee trains are already strong as it is and will only get stronger when T4 gets released.
Personally, I'm "meh" about it.
Melee dps already have a /assist in form of target nearest. It's ranged dps that get the short stick mainly because it is so hard to target the same person that your mdps is targetting unless you're right where the mdps are which as a range is very dangerous. If anything, /assist will close the gap a little with the mdps.

I'm kind of glad it's not working. I'm glad people are trying to run bomb in SC's. There's nothing that can even come close to a perfect assist train in effectiveness or efficiency. PUGs have a slightly longer time to live as the guys on the assist train are trying to find the target that was called.
