Sorc specs (im ready to be flamed/trolled)

So yeah, need a suggestion for a rank 31 (NOT rr40) sorc spec. I know the VoD/SoD spec, but i was wondering if there were other possibilities that didnt include SoD (specially if running with a Chosen or someone else debuffing spirit resist).

I admit i am new to the sorc. Played one on live to rr70 but hated the class (i soloed with it all the time and died a bazillion horrible deaths). So any feedback from experienced sorcs are welcome.

Imo VoD without HoR feels clunky, a lot of the idea of VoD is built around making a burst window focused on those 5 seconds with the chillwind-WoP-Doombolt-gloomburst-HoR rotation if i even remember it well.

So you dont have enough points to get both gloomburst tactic and HoR, so imo you are just running a gimped single target spec.

Sadly with sorc/bw is either go dot or go bomb.

But assuming a Chosen, Magus or another Sorc is debuffing spirit resist on your target, wouldnt your rotation do more damage since you have Swell of Gloom? Also with those extra points in Agony, your Doombolt/Gloomburst will hit harder. Finally, Impending doom is also insta-cast and hits as hard as HoR (just not channeled) so you can replace HoR with it in your rotation.

Of course, i could be very wrong. Which is why i'm asking.

Unless i remember it horribly and the tooltip is crealy wrong, Impending doom is a instant cast equivalent of Nova, which may crit sometimes for 1k if the starts all allign.

HoR ticks will crit by 1k, there is 3 of them.

Swell of gloom surely helps, is what makes Sorc better at single target at 40 than bw, thats at 40 though, when you can get both.

It also costs 13AP for a single tick.

Also more points in the Calamity tree means those Word of Pains will start critting insanely high which is why most people go for HoR early

I know you need RR 40 but i see no reason to not get absorb vitality if you are not getting something else anywhere.
