There is an active gold exploit on both sides. It's DB-related, and the damage is done.

Curious - What does DB related mean?

there really isn't much choice other than a complete wipe of everything that can be obtained via gold even stuff equipped on toons, dont like the idea but dont really think there is an alternative

By the time T3 hits and the level cap gets raised, the R23-25 purple gear will lose its value and usefulness anyway. The only thing we know that's been generated through exploit for sure, is the gold.

+21 talismans and purple potions will be valuable for longer time

Can we quit with the wipes please? It is getting old. You want these exploiters to suffer? Wiping will not do anything. They will just find the next bug in the game to exploit and we are back to square one.

You want to sell your tallies and pots and gear to real players? Easy ... do as I do, announce it in /AD channel. In five minutes tops I have my item sold. ****...we can have an old fashioned market day faire in the capital cities where people sell items to other people.

Yes, I know its a pain in the rear, but after a few weeks or month stuff will iron itself out.

People are working their asses off to farm mats for blue and purple tallies that they make themselves .... and now you are going to wipe because of two or three people?

man i just cant bear reading that "we worked so hard for your ****" nonsense. you were playing A GAME for FUN!

Its not like you worked in a coal mine irl the last weeks to get your ingame stuff...

I understand your sentiment that this is a game - I just ask that you consider the following:

An economy functions because ppl actually spend time "working" in game to create goods that others want. I would love to just pvp the entire time knowing that armor pots / strength pots / health pots / talis / and gear were all taken care of for me and would not be a "limited supply" good.

The issue is - these are not unlimited supply. They are a finite resource that requires time to acquire. I can either make all of these things myself (which would take a great great deal of time) or I can focus on making some of these items and using the economy to acquire the others via trade.

That is what I have done - "working" to scavenge and make talis (just go level salvaging and talk to me about that grind - i never want to see the pq's i was grinding hoping for a salvage piece of gear again) so I have barter to acquire other goods I need to pvp.

Now - that time is effectively wasted - I didn't get to do what I enjoy (playing pvp the entire time) and in addition, the time I spent trying to acquire the goods to do just that has been a total waste of time via a wipe.

Yes - it's a game. But the game is built on tradeoffs of an economy and those that diligent put the time in to make the economy work are continually getting it stuck up their piehole. Guess what eventually happens - wipe enough ppl's work off and they don't come back to do it again. This isn't a threat - it's just reality. No "workers" no economy.

Not your problem I know. But a problem for a community looking to grow none the less.

That stuff still holds value tho, it wouldnt be hard for everyone to avoid a gold wipe by filling there bank and alts with items that can then be sold to vendors or via the ah.

Relax everyone, we can still log in with our geared level 26 chars and pvp, just wait and see what happens.

Which is why I don't oppose a talisman wipe. Gear won't have to be wiped because, once again, once T3 hits, everyone will have to buy new gear. There's currently no RvR gear for level 27-30, aside from unobtainable Devastator gear.

Medallion exploit = full devastator sets, alot of players currently have equipped devastator boots.
