Hi All - Mursie returning to WAR!

Hi everyone,

My handle is Mursie and I'm a long time WAR player returning as of last night after hearing about this very cool project. So glad to see WAR is actually functioning. I was a member of Malice and I think Klev, Mavella, Shayden, and a few others may come back with me. We always reminisce about how some of the best memories were early T1 and T2 rvr, so hearing that the game is capped in those levels is not at all a concern.

Truthfully, having two RR100 toons, I can definitely say that vanilla WAR capped at original level 40 was probably the best the game ever was. DoomFlayer and warpforged just brought the game to a silly level imo.

I've jumped into the server and have been doing some sc's and rvr. Any tips on priorities to do and how to level would be welcome (i'm playing a witch hunter and I can't figure out how to spec a mastery path - I want that BURN AWAY LIES!!! =)_ does the mastery path training still exist? If so, do you have to be a certain level to do it?)

I've been going to most of the t1 flight path locations and picking up all the kill quests... seems like that is super efficient for leveling but curious what others are doing.

Anyways - look forward to playing some more of the coming months and glad to see everyone again!

Masteries still exist, you get your first point at 11 I believe. The renown trainer can learn em for you. I've been leveling mostly via scenarios and oRvR with the kill quests as an added bonus...haven't managed to make it past level 12 on any of my characters yet as I'm addicted to the low level RvR XD

First off, welcome. From what I've seen, Order needs a good group or two during NA prime, so hopefully that's where (and when) you guys land.

Second, mastery training is a thing here, but if I recall correctly, BAL required 14 mastery points (minimum) to get, and you need to be level 30 to have that many, which is well in excess of the server's current level cap.

You get mastery points at levels 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, and then from 21-40 every level. All in all, that makes for a total of 11 points by level 26, the current cap.

Anyone, feel free to correct away if I'm wrong, here.

Well - I used to remember. But after a year + layoff from game, and many, many MMo's in between (I still play swtor ranked arenas to this day lol) I just honestly don't remember anymore.

But now that you say lvl 11. I do remember that being the first point.

Also, I read somewhere that even though I can spec renown points, not all the renown abilities actually work? Is this true? I put points into the crit modifier (i think first level was 5 points). Is this infact a waste that I should change?

Get your spirit resist up in T2. Get all the kill quests in every T2 warcamp.

There's an addon called AnywhereTrainer that comes with the client that allows you to respec your mastery anywhere, does not work with renown though.
