What is the difference between the two apart from the range moves the witch hunter gets

I think you pretty much summed up the differences. There are a few more, but they are both very good.

Nothing really, I'm by no means an expert on the 2 classes but wh and we are both equal in power to each other and both are just as good late game

Not sure if this has changed, but it use to be WH had to stack STR + Ballistics, WE got to stack STR + WS

Ballistics? I don't think any WH did that.

WH's back in live used too, have too stack ballistic and str because their gun finisher's used to count toward how much balistic skill they had. This was fixed however right around the time WE's got ranged finishers.
