If you got ability to deal X damage at range, then its superior to ability dealing X damage in melee for various reasons.

To illustrate this point: imagine WE or WH becomes 100 ft range on ALL abilities, while other doesn't. One would be simply OP compared to another.
I don't know which game you are playing but it doesn't seem to be RoR. The game is heavily in favor of the melees in almost all areas.
The one where rDPS can abuse terrain.
The one where rDPS simply kite people to safety.
The one where rDPS timestamps people from safe distance.
The one where rDPS has freedom of easy assist ignoring whole CC fiesta melee has to go thru.
The one where rDPS has freedom of easy accessing unguarded targets, simply by targeting them and not having to push tank line.

While you may argue melee blobs win zones and chokes, I'd say its kinda irrevelant, because as rDPS kite group you can simply not play their game, take your free kills and move away when your meatshields die. In the ends, it doesn't even matters who caps zone at this time, because everyone has multiple geared chars and it's all about kill/death ratio of your play group.

Why you think TUP is playing mainly rDPS comps lately?

The wise man always apear dumb to idiots. Got used to it.
You see I can "play" this way too.

Try to use arguments. Raw opinions have no value.

Arguing with you is like arguing with a flat earth guy. Useless as it is obvious for everyone beside the fanatic.

If you want to see a game which is rdps dominated - check l2, how alliance vs alliance battle looks there.

Ror is 100% melee oriented. This is obvious for everyone who has eyes in his head and not completely dumb

I run scout because assault is currently bugged.
The gapcloser loses your target. Also the fact our gapcloser has a 1s cast time means you can be spell knockbacked while trying to close the gap :D

As for scout I think its ok. It does what it does.

The only other thing I would say is restore spiral arrow and broadhead to 100ft range. No one cared about the ranges of these spells. No one had an issue with single target skirmish sw. The issue was aoe weaponskill stackers.

It seems like the awful copy/paste nerf is based on the RSH range on their quick shooting path. So much for balance.

But yeah it's really bad and unfair change to singletarget RSW, it had nothing to do with AOE nor was it overpowered. The fact that these skills lost the 15% Armor pen is also really bad.

This is the one time they should reconsider the entire Patch release change for Skirmish SW and admit their mistakes to themselves and fix this mess.

I agree. I have the same sense. The Devs don't know SWs and for Skirmish they simply modeled things after the Squig' Quick Shooting. It is not only sloppy work, but a fundamental error. SW's Skirmish mastery is AOE in core orientation, not mid-range single target.

Yes, certainly, or possible under the wrong influence ( shall we blame Teefz? :) )

Whatever caused this balancing debacle, it certainly wasn't logical changes made for the sake of balance, sadly. I do hope that in time, they will consider that players will play specs or hybrids in more ways than just the cookie cutter's these changes (probably) were aimed at. They truly gutted ST skirmish.
