Nothing makes you wanna keep playing quite like going against BiS pre-made farmers plowing through Conq-wearing peasants.

The game could be fixed very easily by way of dynamic (even static) number adjustments, but the devs/designers/GMs all have the same mindset.

That is, they want to cater to the geriatrics that can barely press five skills in rapid succession, but that have been playing the game for an eternity, and to do so, they have to keep them at an advantage by making it EXTREMELY difficult to grind through people that you know are terrible, but that you can't beat because of gear/stats.

The "veterans" then proclaim the following:
1) git gud
2) grind like we had to

Basically, new players don't stick around, and the population remains at a 300/day (NA time) level ad infinitum (when it SHOULD be 5K+, seeing how GREAT the base game, Warhammer Online, is).

As a thought experiment, imagine what would happen if there was a PVP game mode similar to Guild Wars (the original), where everyone was on an equal playing field.

The "vets" would lose their minds, as there would be fresh/young players demolishing them and leaving them in the dust. But this would shatter their delusional power fantasy, and once their fragile egos would break, they would be at risk of uninstalling.
Basically thats what i trying to not to do - leave. I mean I enjoy the gameplay so much but game just doesnt want me to play it.
That's the impression I get, as well.
They've got a phenomenal game...super fun from the onset.
But they've sabotaged the experience in a way that makes you wonder if they purposefully want to keep new players out.
Oh well...it is what it is.
Nothing will ever change.
Population will stay at a few hundred until the server finally shuts down.

You have to realise that the player base is small. If you notice that you're seeing the same players in a sc then they're a premade that's queued at the same time as you. Just take a little break, do something else and then queue and hopefully you'll be off their game cycle.

I did plenty of SC during the Event and in my experience Premade isn't that much of an issue anymore as the plague it indeed used to be ( joining as solo only). The new system seems quite good. There could still be times where a premade or semi-premade is forming out of the low pool of players( NA=?) and these are people that may be on discord etc but its still very possible to beat them with competent players on your team.

I used to complain/QQ all the time about Scenario premade in the past( just look at my history lol) but the experience during these 3 weeks Event was overall positive imho.

What i've noticed will make the real difference is the quality of the player, and perhaps the right classes+ good player combo ( Ranged SH on destro SW on order did the most difference on those elven event sc maps). Of course Gear+ RR matter as well.

I see huge variety of players that join the scenarios, from players that pretty much do not understand what assist is despite being in SoV gear( get the addon) to those complaining about their team mates and then sits in the camp with a defaitist / poor general attitude ( can't win with ego sensitive people like that).

I complain about the devs all the time ( especially regarding imbalanced classes * Witch Elves* cough) but this one is imho mostly on the playerbase after the SC reworks. Not saying there isn't a Premade issue at all, not saying stuff couldn't be further improved.

Just saying there are many players out there that should complain less and start improving their own game.

Overall the balance between Order and Destro wins is really good. In fact, looking at the last month in Tier 4, it is exactly 50.0% for both sides.

With respect, I think you've missed the point. Yes both Order and Destro run premades all evening such that win-rate is even, absolutely. The problem is the people not in premades who see a win-rate of 20%. That's a pretty rough experience, particularly if you're new and haven't learnt to accept it yet. Upping rewards was an excellent change though, kudos for that, but completing weekend SC event is still pure cancer if you're a pug because they require 5 wins, that can be 50+ SCs if you're unlucky with the amount of times you encounter a premade.

I second all the speakers who mention player&skills as an issue. Thats the most important, gamechanger factor.

The faster you realise you are actually a problem yourself, start selfreflection and improve the better your results will be. There is a problem tho, if you lack experience and game knowledge you are not able to see your own mistakes - going alone on healers backline, standing still under focus as healer, doing no or wrong tanking.

How to fix it? Join groups whenever you can. Of any quality. Someday, sometime you will accidentially join a group with skilled shotcaller who will form proper group and you will see how it looks like from the inside. Also do your homework and ask/read up on combat mechanics, master your GCD management.

Thats kind of impossible to learn on your own or in solo roaming (you can master your own GCD management there but nothing else). You need to play groups in small scale, thats the best practice. Afterwards you can grasp largescale combat, at the moment you will learn close to nothing pugging in oRvR, sadly.

Player skill and gear matter a lot more now, specially if 4vs4 or 6vs6 the team that has lowbies or even one person with green gear and or no talis which I see them quite often, you know it's highly possible that is a lost. When I que as a healer often I do not even waste gcd to heal some ppl which they do not retreat, detaunt o try to survive.
And pls do not que as dps healer if you are rr 4x or even 5x literally a wasted spot imo

I play for two weeks now after a long break, only on first evening with a bunch of other people (no full group).

Most of the time que solo. Not sure about the winrate, but the biggest problem in loosing a sc is miserable teamplay, people running one after another in the enemys, no assist, no guard.

The people yelling the loudest are mostly the people that don't understand basics themself. Dps Tanks running in front alone not guarding anyone but call others out why they are alone in the frontline, dps complaining about heal with 0 protection on themself, healers running wildly into the enemy fighting face to face and calling for help, 3 out of 4 dps crying that the others should assist them.

Maybe somtime I am a little bit rude here, but in my mind, these guys are the people going to the forum and venting there cause they are loosing...

I've played a lot of solo Q scenarios and it's become quite rare to lose because one side had a premade and the other did not with the new match maker.

Ok that sounds super positive if so. I guess you'd know from the metrics.
