Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
I have said many times before. The way to nerf Def WE is either remove regen from the game altogether or Nerf every corporeal spell and witchbrews base damage by a significant amount and then increase the strength multiplier by a lot to even it out. I dont mind if a WE does **** ton of damage but, atleast they die when you hit them. But right now we have wes walking around full toughness/armor/regen built and still do some insane DPS and they just dont die and if they do you check the killboard and they soaked in 30k damage.

Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
It is the healing kisses / 600 absorb tactic that provide the sustain. And tanks with regen are not a huge issue.eigner93 wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 6:33 pm I have said many times before. Nerfing witch elf means reduces their sustain. However the current devs do not seem to care about small scale at all and will let these regeneroonies run riot till all small scale is dead. I for one am done trying to roam vs these and zealots. I just give up
Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
To be honest having 500/4 atleast provides more healing than the kiss. And the 600 absorb tactic can also be countered by many non crit builds and other classes have access to 375 absorb as well, however its too strong its true. I think no other class should have regen other than shield tanks in this game. If it was up to me i would remove it completely from the game.salazarn wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 7:40 pmIt is the healing kisses / 600 absorb tactic that provide the sustain. To the people who keep saying this is not a solo game need to check the zone numbers any time other than peak eu/na joining in. The zones are filled with small scale people. So there should be balance around small scale. And when there are obvious things standing out, they should be looked at quicker not in a year.
Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
i geared my char to have 0% crit (no crit gear/renown/skill etc) just bc def we are everywhere. result: i still crit def we every few seconds. doesnt work for me, so i guess i am doing smth wrong and would like to know: what do you mean by "can be countered by non crit builds" when zero crit setup still crits them, bc of the inherent crit chance?eigner93 wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 8:01 pmTo be honest having 500/4 atleast provides more healing than the kiss. Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
love the : Some classes are ok with regen => WEs are op with regen => Remove all the regen
from the game.
What kind of logic is this ?
btw i'm ok to remove regen from the game but it need some serious thinking about wich bonuses you're gonna add instead in the gear sets etc.
if done wrong it might lead to more unbalanced stuff.

Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
An ideal solution would be to restrict regeneration gear to certain classes. I really don't see the point of DPS classes having regen on gear, like the Witch Elf Warlord chest. I'd much rather have AP or anti-crit on it. Overall, the Warlord set is a DPS set, yet the most expensive piece has health regeneration on it? Restricting DPS classes from having access to regeneration on gear is probably the quickest and safest way to deal with defensive "deftard" builds. Health regeneration on armor and jewelry should be reserved for tanks.

Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
I might be wrong, but im pretty sure Order started mass using lions somewhat last year this time around. Again, i might be wrong since i play this game in cycles, since inevitably some stupid crap causes me to ragequit. BUT, pulls from marauder and choppas are constantly complained about, from the time ive started playing which was 2022 iirc, and they are still here. And i even wont go into slayer and rampage cause that isnt a subject of this thread.tsyuryu wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 2:40 am lmao it took almost 2years to nerf aoe wl and they even buffed st one
I dont know, ask the guys who play magic classes, i only play knight and healing am, ive discovered this when i messed around with dps am.Sulorie wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 7:02 pm How people were able to deal with this für 20+ years until you come to make it a topic?
Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
Regen gear is overrated by itself, in fact regen won't do much without supporting healing skills and a lot of mitigation.Krima wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2026 4:39 pmAn ideal solution would be to restrict regeneration gear to certain classes. The reason Wiitch elf Def is overpowered is because of her skills and itemization allowing this build to thrive and still doing significant dps relative to the amount of sustain possible.
More specifically this being her itemization is corporeal based in the middle tree( dots, witchbrew etc) requires no weapon skill and her left tree( build possibilities) ignores armor like crazy ( Swift movement, sacrifical stab etc). Then add stuff like Sacrifices rewarded( 600 absorb/3) and defensive itemization ( thoughness, armor, whatever).
However if it was only sustain + dps one could take it, the problem is that when you add Stealth, best reset tools in the game to that mix you get this ridiculous character that when played by a competent person, it's truly broken.
She even jumps twice now and ranged characters can't kite this tank in your face that kills you fast.

Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
After reading all 25 pages, I'd say the feedback is pretty unanimous: bringing stealth classes back into focus should be a top priority.
I'd also add that taking a serious look at the Rune Priest, Shaman, Archmage, and Zealot feels just as important.
I've always struggled to understand why the devs put so much effort into making some classes completely overpowered in solo play while, at the same time, telling us that RoR isn't meant to be a solo game.
A bit of cognitive dissonance, perhaps?

Re: Nerf WH/WE into the ground
^^
The thing is that DPS healers have almost always been OP in small scale in every MMO, it's in the concept of hot/dot/ranged vs none healing classes that gives the advantage. Its not impossible but harder to balance(shaman/AM are weaker than they used to be).
But Stealth classes dont have to be OP, hence it's a shame that WE in particular never really went under the scrutiny lens of the RoR devs here.
So you hit the nail on the head with that comment, they telling us the game isn't about small scale yet buffing WE in a way that will certainly and mostly be abused and used by these single-target solo WE's feels like hypocrisy tbh, how else to interpret it?
