Return of Reckoning doesn't have Damaz Kron and you still see people crashing their client to avoid being killedFoltestik wrote:on live scenarios end mostly time when we join (6man premade) destro dont go down from respawn, if they have balls they maybe try it once. Forgive me, but this seems unnecessarily provocative. Perhaps another way to say it would be:Penril wrote:- Super Mario Bros. : I am bad at platforming. I refuse to learn how to jump. Devs, please give Mario perma-flight.
- Call of Duty: I am bad at aiming. I refuse to learn how to aim. Devs, please give me permanent auto-aim so i can head-shot all the time.
- DoTA: I am bad at Support. I refuse to learn how to support. Devs, please remove support Heroes from the game.
- Return of Reckoning: I am bad at joining/making premades. I refuse to learn. Devs, please remove premades from SCs.
As i already said, people who don't put enough time/effort in PvE games are invariably marginalized in end-game raids. If they don't put the effort to form a group in a group-centric PvP game, they are marginalizing themselves.Wraithedge wrote:Forgive me, but this seems unnecessarily provocative. Devs, please don't marginalize me because its the easy thing to do. Please don't just dismiss me, because I like this game too.
That is just another way to see it and I don't think it is any less constructive than your offering.
But we all know the way this is going to go. Perhaps you could be a little kinder to those who are almost certainly going to find themselves out of scenarios entirely. I would call that good form.
This is not untrue and I am not trying to adopt some sort of devils advocacy role opposite your platform. I am merely pointing out that demonizing people who are clearly going to be pushed aside anyway seems a little cruel but then this is a PVP game, as you pointed out, and that activity does have its particular allure. You are clearly the right kind of player for this game.Penril wrote:As i already said, people who don't put enough time/effort in PvE games are invariably marginalized in end-game raids. I truly do not get people like you. You say you have no time to play the game and want to come on and play casually. YOU CAN BE CASUAL AND STILL MAKE A GROUP. Follow these simple steps and you will see your limited time be much more enjoyable:Wraithedge wrote:This is not untrue and I am not trying to adopt some sort of devils advocacy role opposite your platform. But nobody is paying for this so no one can make a case that the devs need to include them. And the resources of the game are thin enough that minority solutions are just not in the cards.
I would encourage everyone to accept that the scenario que is what it is. It requires adaptation or acceptance that one will not be benefiting from it. I feel that the devs are trying to provide the largest experience for the largest groups available. Scenarios are for premades, PuGs are the mice in the walls. It is just going to be that way.
You make my point for me, by making the same excuses again. I am a casual player who logs in maybe an hour every two days. But I am in a guild and if I log in and no one is on I solo que. If ppl are on I get in group. This isn't wow. There isn't some lfr to que for where it auto sorts your groups and I don't think there ever will be and that's what you are all asking for. A watered down version of the top end raid that is easy to que for and you can do it on your own. Just remember. Sometimes the tank is an idiot pug in your lfr and you will die miserably for hours.Elenol wrote:I'm fine with SCs how they are, but I also think it's silly to marginalize folks who don't want to do that guild stuff. There are folks who prefer to just queue mindlessly for a few hours -- ideally with others who are queueing mindlessly for a few hours.
Or to put it another way, what if I form a guild with a couple buddies and they're not on when I've got an hour to spare for SCs? I don't really feel like being part of a bigger guild. It's weird to hear someone say I'm playing the game wrong. With an MMO it's kind of the thing where you play the game however you like.
It's not like these suggestions must be implemented. And almost certainly the game would be less enjoyable for some people if some people if some of these changes were implemented. But it's weird to just act like there is a right or wrong way.
It's a little like if someone who loves Roguelikes hopped on an MMO and lamented about no perma deaths and really how freaking lame is it that all these casual players can stand this? A real gamer would take his perma death and learn to not die. Or get a great guild to collect his stuff should something happen. But not everyone wants to deal with perma deaths. It's not like anyone is wrong. It's just two people aiming for a different experience.
Essentially saying to get in a guild or to work to build a group *are* two great solutions. But you're sidestepping the whole issue that there is a segment of the population that doesn't like to do those things much. If you want to make the argument that this population is too much the minority to address it, then that would be more directly arguing the problem raised.
As weird as it probably sounds to some people, there are folks who hop on MMOs who aren't very social. Or who socialize differently than you or I do. Or gamers who enjoy different aspects of a game. It might end up being true with the dismissive "Well this isn't the game for you if that's what you want." But it seems like enough people have voiced some amount of displeasure with the occasional SC stomping that it shouldn't just be dismissed. Maybe there is no easy better solution and it is what it is. Just don't see the reason for some of the attacks is all.
