Meanwhile people show that even 24wh wb can be efective setup. Basicaly any TUP shitshow proves that Gersy wrong. Use your imagination, be creative, and never stuck in box others try stick you.

In case of def gear, why not? You will lose some damage but will get more time. In impacts with 5 wb where regular glass cannon warbands die, maybe such one live. Problem that people are afraid to go from 2/2/2 offset golden standarts, but it doesn't mean such ways dont exist.
The core assumption of the thread is that defensive sets are better than offensive ones because they give more overall value in stats. It at no point in time asserts that they are analyzing this from the perspective of a solo or smallscale player, just as a general truth. That is what is being disputed, and clarified, that this is only true for solo/duo/trio and not true for most other types of content that implies teamplay. He is right that it's a solo player thread.

Also, anything can be an effective setup when you have other warbands facetank the enemy for you, so that you can flank or shoot from safety. Some would say that's being carried, though. Far be it for me to deny people to have fun in the way that they choose, but it's best not to post misleading information, in case someone from the warband that facetanks the enemy gets convinced and weakens it as a result. It'll be less fun even for the wh-only warband, then.

Nope. This is just label he puts on everything that dont fit his gameviev, and hes kinda famous for it (not in good way).

Def sets was used in dif game environments from ranked to rvr, from solo to city and with success. In some cases surpasing offensive ones. So even if you claim OP wrong, and try to reduce all to your casual "solo experience doesnt matter" - u failed. Its not an YES or NO topic, and answer to it not that simple. Gear changes according to game situation, and in some cases boosting your def pays in lot more dmg than when you lie dead in full glass "rigth gear". So topic starter not wrong defs sets are strong, but not entirely correct that they far surpasing offencive ones. And its definitely not a solo player question. So pls stop pulling that "not a solo game" its rather annoying.

Then let's end it at agree to disagree. This will go on for a long time otherwise. The only way to make sure for yourself is spend 20k crests on obtaining the ideal defensive set, and then play with it in an appropriately challenging environment, where the opposition means business. You will make conclusions on which situation the set feels the most useful in. Good luck to anyone who undertakes the task.

ASW is considered non-meta and too weak for organised play, but sees a lot of success for soloing. And I hope the RDPS patch brings ASW up to being playable in more types of content.

But otherwise, this isn't lending any credence to your counterargument. Still, I hope you prove me wrong. Perhaps the gear rebalancing will even change the general consensus on this topic, too, and then you can stick it up to all of us "meta-slaves".

ASW is seen once in a blue moon in solo, and it implodes to the WE's ganking the poor thing. ASW is a ''shadow'' of its former self thanks to the devs continuously nerfing it year after year.

Then I guess it now sucks even for soloing. Good luck in the RDPS patch.

I agree. I typically solo roam aSW, however, defensive gear and setup with 3.8k armour, high parry, and 9.5k WNDS counts for nothing against WEs who KD you, and use positionals and armour bypass to basically negate all defenses. That's not a problem of def Sets though, but of some classes or perhaps the current meta gameplay.

Relatively speaking it does, soloing at this moment belongs to DPS healers and stealth gankers, you'll see some Def WL standing in a corner and a few regen tanks but ASW is mythology.

I do still remember this game 4-5 years ago, ASW was pretty good back then, before they removed the stuff that made it compete.
