Game is all about max burst now

Hello,

this is an observation I've made while playing T4 scenarios. The good groups are currently maxing out their burst damage and with their assist everything pretty much melts in seconds. Doesn't matter if there are guards or healers, whether you are in SOV or not. Against a good assist train people just die within seconds.

As a healer you don't even have time to cast a bigger heal and the hots and stuff will not save the target for long. The game has become really fast in T4. Compared to T1 killing it is A LOT faster and even to T3 it is noticeable faster.

There was a time, like during ranked was active, where good groups could barely kill someone. This is long gone with the melee dps overhaul, the armors nerfs, the global cooldown on potions, stacking auto attack haste etc. especially when you have 2vs2 or 3vs3 group scenarios.

So how to fix that?

For me there are a few things standing out that seem to be a bit on the "too strong" side:

1. armor debuffs. They seem to be crazy strong compared to how much armor e.g. a sov cloth armor set gives you. If I remember right then they were a percentage in WAR. That was fairer for light armor classes. The flat amount removes most of their armor.

2. armor bypassing abilities. It doesn't seem to be a good idea to have abilities that bypass all armor. They should be capped to 50% or 75% ignore.

3. auto attack haste/damage. It's a bit crazy how fast you can make certain classes hit, especially those with 50% tactics, and how much of their auto attacks then contribute to their damage. Choppas even have a 20s 35% buff for the whole group. That is very powerful in an assist train. Not to mention -> faster hits -> more procs from weapons, bw/sorcs, dok/wp -> adds even more damage.

Overall I think the game should become a bit slower again.

I think the game currently tries to fix one flaw with another. Ridiculous high damage just to kill someone who is guarded and is getting heals. Since even these targets getting killed easily with assist everything without guard just explodes. We got to the point were we have too much of everything. Too much defensive stuff, too much healing, too much damage. One extreme to fix another extreme. We would actually need less of everything to make it slower again.

Bust just doesn't happen, it takes knowledge of your skills, debuffs and good timing. There are plenty of counters to it.

Lots of ppl have called for this change for a long time. Now you get punished for your mistakes rather than just saying "whoops" and tanking away. Now its not only up to healer, but for everyone to anticipate the burst and actively trying to counter it.

Also as previous answer stated, proper burst takes group coordination with each member habing their role in it. It is not by accident.

They do coordinate and Focus all in one target and you want to Nerf them? Then how are people going to kill someone ?

Your argument makes no sense , get agold group and learm how to use de taunt plz

I agree with the post on some level, in that the game would be more accessible to the average player if scoring kills in an organized environment simply required a bit more time. In the sense that the same setup, the same coordination, the same set of actions that would lead up to a kill would still cause a kill, but that this kill would take an extra couple of seconds to happen, perhaps due to healers healing less and dps damaging slightly less.

Unfortunately I struggle to see how it's mechanically possible to finetune it to that point. It will most likely result in new players feeling even more powerless, ironically.
