Being in same situations i calm myself that there has to be someone sane enough to read and analyze and who will not conclude that "mara is bottom tier crap" according to common forums echo&vibes. So such posts like yours are also nice reality checks for regular forum dwellers. People say that all those "elitists" are toxic etc, while in reality its way too toxic for anyone skilled and knowledgable to interact with forums.

Any class is S tier if you know how to play.

These are my recent experience below for mara:
After the changes, it is not possible to be tanky and do insane damage as in past so if you wanna do damage, need to drop def stats and focus offensive stats more.
Str/melee power damage scale is sucks for mara and damage is coming from high armor pen and crit so try to get more ws and crit chance as possible.
Because of low str, your base damage will be low against low armor classes but you will able to hit crit more often so this will cover your low str.

Mara is hardcore class. If you wanna easy win, play dps dok/wp.
That sounds like you are talking about solo gameplay. Why would any class be able to be tanky and do insane damage. What exactly are you complaining about here? I am talking about small scale group gameplay with other people enhancing your gaming experience.

The only other class more tanky than Mara from a dps pov is dps dok on destro. So yeah. I‘ll stop here. If you guys really believe Mara is not borderline broken in small scale currently nobody can help you. I tried to enlighten you. Expected nothing else to be honest. If anyone actually wants to play the class in a smallscale group setting and be successful, you know where to find me.

Why should I be in misery? I'm doing pretty great with my mara so wanted to help ppl who seek advice. You just gave useless tooltip info.
And I was not talking about solo.

I think there's too much bitterness in this statement. Please share specifics and details. What build, skills and equipment are you using? What's the composition of your group? I'm a new player and would appreciate some advice.

If you get an answer im sure it would be about as useful as reading the tool tips. All these marauder "experts" appear to be posers just in here to keep marauder from getting any significant positive changes.

Probably something along the lines of "Use Cutting claw to reduce armor then gut ripper to form the guaranteed crit on impale"

tested again for quite some time and the results I got weren't really astonishing tbh.

Tested the following build:

Stats: 902 Strength, 738 WS (with Mutating Corruption up), 52,7% Armor Penetration, 28% Crit

Rotation I used while always staying in Brutality Stance:

1) Keep Corruption buff up all the time
2) Stacking Rend (3x) all time
3) Thunderous Blow
4) Gut Ripper when up
5) Impale when up
6) Guillotine when up
7) Flail as Filler

I ended up having around 633 dps on the training construct with this. I think this is extremely underwhelming.

If you change tactics and go "Brute Force", "Feeding on Fear", "Piercing Bite", "Growing Instability" you end up pretty much at about the same dps because you max out crit with FoF, but you lose Strength and very much WS, leaving you at only penetrating armor with abilites that require a mutation. Also this tactic setup makes Flail and Corruption worse because those do not require a mutation and do not benefit from Piercing Bite.

Many things do not really synergize well.

The usual Cookie Cutter Spec, also running "Brute Force", "Feeding on Fear", "Piercing Bite", "Growing Instability", (36,9% AP + 15% from Piercing Bite) did around 100-150dps more during my tests. I think a major reason for this is because Rend is much, much easier to stack and keep up in Savagery Spec. All in all not very impressed with the dps either way.

Idk wtf you are doing, but ofc If you play some weird spec to purposefully get bad results on the dummy you make the class look bad.
