Somehow, about a month ago my internet provider has blocked the IP of the RoR server. No idea why and I cannot even ask him as I don't know exactly which IP was blocked.
Have to play via VPN now. Recently playing via VPN became impossible as well: huge lags no matter which VPN service I used (have tried few of them). Any tip on what can be done? Perhaps asking the game dev team to change the IP of the server is too much, but maybe someone knows a VPN which will work?

Re: Playing via VPN: what to do?
You should first confirm if IPs were actually blocked. Are you able to reach the login server with VPN?
You can find the exact IPs you're trying to reach, here are the steps:
Open the RoR Launcher and hit "Connect" (even if it hangs).
While it’s trying to connect, open the Resource Monitor from your start menu.
In Resource Monitor, go to the Network tab.
Look under TCP Connections. Look for WAR.exe or RoRLauncher.exe.
In the Remote Address column, you will see the exact IP address the game is attempting to reach.
Now that you have the IP for RoRlauncher.exe and WAR.exe, hit CTRL + R and type "cmd". In the command prompt, type "ping [INSERT IP OF SERVERS]" and see if you can reach either or both.

Re: Playing via VPN: what to do?
it does connect via VPN, though the lags are unbearable.
I will try to follow your steps being without VPN active

Re: Playing via VPN: what to do?
have pinged all 3 while no VPN running - all 3 have an average response time of 25-50 ms, 0 losses
but I still cannot enter the game without VPN - while character choosing screen open - I cannot click "start" button. Only if I do it via VPN - i can click "start" and enter

Re: Playing via VPN: what to do?
Send me your tracert, ill add it into "not working" column. Keep using VPN to play game or configure windivert.
For windivert you will need complex traffic routing analyze from your own side (install wireshark for that), figure what and where doesnt go thru and create a traffic masking strategy that will let you connect. However it can be pretty tricky, for example, my traffic is not going to 51.91.215.12, im connected thru backbone connection within Akamai (ISP from Sweden) and from there i go into OVH (France), server provider.
Nothing can be done from RoR team besides opening support ticket as OVH customer.
Max asked to do timestamped tracert, its possible thru PingPlotter (not free but has demo version for 14 days, should be more then enough or download cracked version somewhere) or thru windows powershell.
My wild guess is that at least for me it has alot to do with recent cloudflare crashes at Akamai so if OVH will do nothing and wont fix issue then i will just come up with masking strategy with windivert. But such strategy will work for me only (or people who live nearby and have same ISP as me).
P.S. If you have someone in your family&friends (or anyone who trusts you) who is able to play, then you can ask them to create you a tunnel to their router. This will work too.
