Check to see if you have 64-bit OS, if so switch to 64 bit instead of 32 bit like it says on site.

even with x64 my game uses the x86 DVX files.

i was having same issue then swapped it to the 64 where the guide says 32, and no more issues. Worked for a couple others as well. not sure, not that techy :)

Because it is not working. The game only uses 32-bit files, so when you place the 64-bit files there it's just not being used at all. Lots of people gave me this feedback but I usually have a hard time explaining to them it is placebo.

If you use the 64-bit files basically it is never active, it is never being actually used. Everything you feel of it is placebo.
