Squig Herder - Armor/Weapon questions

So I just made a squig herder. The goal is to make the path of the bouncing aoe melee git.

My goal is to level him up as fast as possible through scenarios and RvR. However I also don't want to be dead weight during the process, so my questions are these:

1) What armors should I purchase on my way to lvl 40?
2) What weapons should should I purchase on my way to lvl 40?
3) How do you get the squig armor mount? Seems I have to ride around and then get into the armor before combat, saw others run around as fast squigs.
4) Is there a way to pick the color of your armor squig? Saw people running around in different colors.

Please keep in mind that I have no interest in touching PvE, so those armor/weapons are not options.

Thanks!

1) If we are limited to non-PvE sets:
Decimator > Challenger > Devastator > Annihilator

2) The best blue weapons for your level. Aim for melee/range crit, then Weapon Skill then Strength/Ballistic Skill as your mainstats. You can find them at the war crest vendors in the Northeast side of Undercroft (the area in the South of Inevitable city). They are located on your left as you enter it.

3) You can find the level 16 and level 38 mounts in the vendors of PvE chapter warcamps or in IC. The former can easily be found in T3 (e.g. fly to High Pass) and for the latter you can find it in the Vendor that's in the Stables area in the Inevitable City.

4) Follow this and use the Barber NPC that's between the bank and the AH in IC to change your face.

Thanks for the input! Will check out the build from the guide as well.

On a non-gear related note, what is the single target rotation for a melee SH? Are you supposed to actually use autoattack or are you supposed to use Ard Noggin between your other cooldowns for single target.

I will be going the aoe bouncy build, but i wanna know if im using the right skill when i am fighting someone 1v1.

There is an AOE filler.

Indigestion (range is solid), Bad Gas! > Big Bouncing > Bounce

If a single target left, Git Em!

So, even if you are going after a single target, you are still going at it with your AoE skills? Sounds odd, then again im coming from a Mara who has a lot more single target skills. So basically you shouldn't be autoattacking or using the Ard Noggin at all?

Single target melee squig is really boring! Especially without a pet.

Big Claw -> Indigestion -> Ard Noggin

That's it essentially. Keep the DoTs running and then ard noggin. The single target channel (Tastes like stunty) does good damage, so its up to you whether you want to prioritise it for the damage, or prioritise it for the self-heal. In PvE, basically use it on cooldown, PvP u need to be a bit more tactical.

With a pet, add in Git Em and Squig Frenzy on cooldown.

I tend not to run with a pet when im in melee squig mode. There's just too much AoE damage floating around for your pets to stay alive for long and I don't wanna use a tactic to make my pet stronger.

My bad, missed the part where you said single target rotation. Someone else posted it. The devs removed the interupt and KD which we had back in 2020 or so for the ST rotation.

If you are learning how to MSH, my biggest piece of advice is to always try to be paired with a Blackguard that has specced for the Witch King skill.
This will give you some of the, if not THE, higgest burst Aoe MDPS in the game if you learn to play around it well.
Ask the WB lead to change your group if you see there is a BG in another group.

Also, learning how to use your M1 defensively and M3 offensively can really change how effective you can be with this class.

Final tip, Squig Gas is an extremely important skill to be using well. It can seriously nerf both healing and dps if you use it correctly.
