ROR 2024 Positive and negative

I will start with positive theses.

PVE

Old dungeons have been restored and additional rewards have been added. A new dungeon has appeared! It has a long introduction and controversial mechanics for some bosses, but it really turned out cool. The rewards for t1, t2, and t3 have been redesigned, providing more equipment options. There are new public quests in the capitals.

Art

New items, sets, and trophies began to appear in the game. Their quality is much higher than the horror that was added in previous years. So we can be happy for the team's growing professionalism.

Holiday events

The old events were changed, supplemented, and modernized.

Server and website support in working order

Considering that this is a non-profit project, the work is impressive. Just please remove the black and white contrast of the positions in the killboard.

The engine of the game

It is clear that the game code is old, it contains crutches from the age of myths, so it is difficult to understand the engine. I want to say thank you for perseverance. But then the negative begins, as errors in the pet's work and wild lags in big fights clearly indicate mistakes made.

Now the negative

Balance

2024 started with Gravord. The dumbest balance adjustments in the entire history of the server, which led to a 30-40% increase in the advantage of the destruction side. That's how much this man wanted to win for his choppa.

Then the team changed.
A roadmap was released, in which the deadlines were almost immediately missed, but given the state of balance on the server and the limitations in mastering the engine, the players were ready to wait. And the new team made a strategic mistake. Instead of strengthening/weakening the balance to an adequate level in 1st stage, they immediately decided to make the classes perfect and change the pairs of mirrors. As a result, at the end of the year, we get generally balanced archetypes of tanks and healers, but at the same time we retain a 15-25% advantage from destruction.
Upgrades that have changed weapon skills, instead of carefully weakening them, deserve special blame. And a new system of parrying, blocking, evading and disrapting. Not only does it create a bias towards defense and destruction, which has more ways to increase protection, but it also causes dead lags in major fights.
AM, BW, SL, SM, WL, Engi, RP, WP, Kotbs - all 80+ and BIS.
BO and WE for easy game on mid tier sc.

Where are you getting these numbers from? What do you mean by "advantage"?

To be blunt, without more info on how you came to this conclusion it sounds like it's just a case of "the other side killed me so must be OP". Players that only play destro do the same with Order.

Agree with the rest of what you said. PvE team seems like it's the most fun team to be on dev side. They are getting win after win with their content.

WS nerf can't be judged until we get a full picture of the team's balance plans. We still don't know how they plan to close the gap between phys and magic damage, or how the T4 sets will look after the rework. It could be once the roadmap is complete and we have a full picture of the balance rework that the WS change was actually a good thing for the game. I just really, really hope they don't try to increase parry by slapping tons of ini on T4 sets at the expense of other stats. Even I would probably give up on the game at that point.

I don't know on which server you play this game, but this statement made me laugh :)

The Order side is dominating cities, LotD, and taking way more fortresses than Destro.
Of course there are a lot of xrealmers on this server, but I'm wondering if you play on NA time, because EU is mostly order dominance for me.
That said, I almost stopped playing the last few weeks, but I can't believe the situation has changed.

Its currently the exact opposite. WL pet works while squig pet randomly despawns and never attacks. Been that way for a few months.

average order prider post making random numbers up to feel better about losing

not sure how you can even quantify these random numbers like 30-45% or 15-25% advantage. did you miss the part where SL, WL and BW with procs were ridiculously overpowered at the start of 2024 during the proc meta? the same time when "gravord" (lol) buffed choppa?

in all seriousness, game balance between classes and realms is in a fairly good spot currently compared to how it was in the past. sometimes there are outliers in certain forms of gameplay, like solo roaming/1v1, but in terms of midscale and largescale gameplay it's pretty balanced currently.

i play both sides with bis characters in all archetypes, at high magnitude of organization (some call it sweaty), and it's safe to say both sides have their positives and negatives but neither outweighs the other by these crazy numbers like 15-40%. the only real differentiating factor in who wins most of the time is skill and level of organization - sometimes it's a numbers game, but that is a player behavior issue (side stacking) not a balance issue.
