Aaand... He deleted my message where I explained how it actually was.
Way to go, way to go. Stuff like this is the reason for your reputation.
Try not to mistake open dialog with a softening of enforcement. The whole point of the soft warning was so we didn't have to take it further.
Context matters, and your personal context of what you intended needs to align with the public context of someone that doesn't know what point you're trying to make. This is something I've discussed with several people in the past. You can't get away with quoting nazis on this server because people will report it and we will take action on it. The warning was to keep you out of trouble.
The thing is, I didn't quote any nazis. This was a made up quote from a fictional character about our wb's tanks doing a great job. Which anyone in the WB chat would know. Maybe GM's shouldn't break into semi-private chats the context of which they don't don't know. Maybe they should ignore nonsensical reports instead of harassing users.
And yes, it was absolutely a harassment. It wasn't some benevolent action like you're trying to frame it. I felt like a person of color being pulled by an American cop, looking for an excuse to arrest or shoot them.
It doesn't help that some GM's mistake being passive-aggressive for being 'professional'. Friendliness and a few smiles can go a long way. "Dude, I got this weird report here, could you please clarify a few things?

"
Is it so hard to act like humans, ffs?
You already told on yourself, it wasn't deleted. "just happened to have the same name as a german general" Yep. That's enough for us. Take the warning already. This is your chance to act like a human. Understand you're not on trial, not under arrest, not about to get beaten with a flashlight and handcuffed. Further incitement to frame GM's like some kind of hate crime is about to happen is way out of line.
It's a game, you were hopefully a little misguided on what is appropriate here, you got warned. You can adjust behavior to not be close to the line and we don't have to have an incident over it. I'm not going to back down on the action taken because it was about as soft as you could imagine a GM to be in that situation, and they were correct for issuing the warning.
We're obligated to take action on reports when there are things clearly within our sanction guidelines. We are not passive aggressive, warnings are not passive. GM's are instructed to be direct and forward about their actions taken. They are not going to discuss with you semantics or context over something clearly in their guidelines. A soft warning is simply one that doesn't get recorded to your account.
This is not harassment, it's enforcement. You're not supposed to feel warm and comfortable about it, neither do we. This was not a nonsensical report, it was very much something we will take action on. This kind of rebuttal to simple interactions with community members over their behavior is why we've considered opening ban appeals, so the public can be better informed on how we deal with players.
