Playing from USA = Frustrating packet loss 25+ hops perhaps

Re: Playing from USA = Frustrating packet loss 25+ hops per
Yeah I get around a 110 ms ping (30 HOPS) from east coast. I can barley manage a tank if your standing still Im good(but tank stye is more about snares, punts, guards and soaking damage). MDPS is a no go unless some one has simalar bad ping. Shame as I love playing melee. Ill continue with my tank but im leveling range as a fail safe.

US player here (Texas). I don't know what my latency/ping is, but the game is laggy-ish...doesn't bother me though; I'm just happy to be able to play again. Imo the most frustrating thing is cancelling my own casts. I've learned to overcompensate my movement on my White Lion to ensure I'm in melee range by trying to move in front of the character I'm chasing. I just assume the actual character position is a few feet ahead of where I see them on my screen.Once you get used to it it's not that bad. Trying to land from-behind attacks is tricky though.
I do agree playing ranged classes is easier, but not nearly as much fun! EDIT - the latency is an issue, but hasn't prevented me from topping dmg/kills with my White Lion or Bright Wizard in SCs. Not trying to brag, just wanted to point out that its not THAT big of a hindrance.

On the east coast US, lag is an issue. It may always be an issue, and it's acceptable. Half of the classes in the game are ranged and I can cope with playing them. I'll miss being an effective Tank/MDPS, but this is far better than the alternative being... nothing at all.

I get 102 ms from New York with no performance problems. I play SH and Sorc most of the time.
Re: Playing from USA = Frustrating packet loss 25+ hops per
Playing from the East Coast, my ping varies between 89-135 ms. However, packet loss and skill cancellation ( specially visible on SH 1-2 s casts) does not seem to be entirely related to ping
I have also given up on playing WE/WH but still have fun with most other classes. I think a more generous "backside positioning" could help the rogue classes.
For reference on the US Mythic servers I used to ping at 35-45 ms.

Ping from West Coast for me is 164 right now. Pretty sweet. If only I was barely competent.
