Can't find any of my characters...

I haven't played in over a year but I do have characters still on my account. I got everything patched and repaired but when I get to the screen where I'd normally see my characters it is empty. There is also a window that looks to be a dialog box but it is just black. When I log in I don't even see an option to create a new character, it is just the screen with the stone stairs etc and I have the buttons: Cinematic, Credits, Settings, and Quit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Most likely cause is some sort of connection issue. Antivirus/Firewall blocking or Directorypermissions problem.

I have disabled everything firewall wise, and still no dice. Do I need to do a fresh install?

are you sure your are on the right account?
do you see character creation screen?

can you share a screenshot of the main menu. Upload to imgur.com for example.
