Hugatsaga wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 7:06 am I would like to add that while people correctly pointed out that chosen and knight of the blazing sun are more straightforward mechanic wise than black guard and ironbreaker, even mastering chosen or kotbs is a long road, at least in small scale (6 man and less).

For instance, positioning aspect is big part of tank gameplay and you have to constantly think should you be with your frontline dps setting up kills and doing damage or should you be at your backline, protecting healers or rdps when they are under pressure. Or what to do if both your frontline mdps and backline healers are under pressure at the same time. Setting up kills is not that simple either, since you want to be aware of what key debuffs and buffs are on at any given time so you don't waste cc and give out immunities by cc'ing at the wrong time.

Above is mostly written with organized small scale group play in mind where 2h tanks usually shine. If you don't play in organized groups, you have more freedom to do what you want as a tank. You can basically play as a dps if you want to and not worry about anything I wrote above but then I'd recommend going for tank who can do good damage.
Finally, someone said it. People think that the usefulness and enjoyment of playing a class is determined by the number of keys to press and absolutely do not understand that the key abilities of tanks are the same for all of them. And don't try to do damage with a tank, please.
