It's no rocket science, when you do exactly what the guide tells you. After torrent download quit torrent and move the folder somewhere else, where it is not write protected.

the guide on the site doesnt even mention the torrent. but you want players how about not making them download a torrent and or read a guide at all. this isnt 1999.

True, they removed it but the download went all well anyway I guess.
Apparently you must missed something, as "If it attempts to download 170,000+ files you have missed a step. Do not attempt to fully patch as your problem will cause further issues." is exactly your issue.

seriously guys, when a new player comes and complains about shitty install process, the least you could do is not pretend like it's ok.

@miller5862 when i first time installed game i did something wrong as well. to this day not sure what, i just did everything from start and then it worked 2nd time.

queue changes were tried and it was awful, pops were really slow. there isnt a great solution, you get what you get with pubs. if you plan to play SC casually you really have to look at your own class - if you are an rdps, a dps heal or a squishy melee you are probably dead weight expecting to get carried. these classes can work well in prems but not pubs, where you need sturdy melee and dedicated heals. too often you see 5 SWs or WEs on your side and just groan

Pugs should play against pugs, premades against premades, simple as.

Games with dedicated archtypes require you to build teams in order to win.

Yes, but with curent online you should spend minimum 1 hour to build premade.

Thank you for posting this, great commentary on how the changes have decimated the population. I hope (but don't expect) the Devs view and give thought to a more positive change in the course of this game.

is there a pathway to gain new players? How do we support them and in turn promote the fun this game provides us.

Essentially the user journey can be fairly hard going for newer/more casual players so anything to support and grow them is key - in terms of solutions a lot has been said and some good ideas plus the devs on the whole do a good job.

The most obvious is left out nerf choppa / Slayer aoe range killboard says it all or just play 2 hours rvr

if a side captures a BO , stealth is disabled around it

I'd probably go at least 200 ft but maybe 100-300ft would be something to try

I think the whole thing is stupid anyway where a WH/WE can be invisible around stuff like that anyway

don't make it drop instant, like from the moment you enter the field you have say... 3 seconds before your stealth drops, make it come up on the screen like the RVR warning does

For what purpose? That you can take BO and leave it undefended and no stealth class can reclaim it, when you are gone?
Use your own stealth classes to provoke such reclaim attempts and fight them.

Simple, just nerf destro.

The pipeline is like this:
Newbie finds RoR -> rolls Order because Warhammer fluff -> gets ground into fine red paste by the destro zerg -> learns to play -> still gets ground into fine red paste -> voices his dissatisfaction on the forums -> notices this is working as intended because devs play greenskins -> either rerolls destro or quits

And that's the whole root cause for this issue. So, devs, what shall it be? Uber-r0XX0r everyone or having a healthy server? Your choice.
