When does each class get "efficient"?

Hi,

I am a fairly new player, I have only tested a few classes, none higher than level 11. But even with that limited experience in this game, I seem to have very different impact in fights depending on the class I play. I am wondering is there is a difference in which level a class becomes "efficient" (when you unlock a key spell for the class, things like that). Am I mistaken and it's just a bad game-play on my part (which is totally possible  )? Can someone give me a rough idea about when each class gets "online"?

not as experienced with dps, will talk about the supp classes:

black orc - lvl 1 - naturally very tough, gets st snare, def buffs and dps assist (skull thumper) very early on. good early racial tactics

zealot/runepriest - lvl 1 - flash heal is your bread and butter, hot and big heal come in early. both get very nice early racial tactics that help with survivability

ironbreaker - lvl 1 - very similar to bo, naturally tough, gets st snare and both main def buffs very early on. early racial isn't as good but you have the kd option in snb spec. though honestly there's a question as to whether ib really ever starts working...

knight/chosen - lvl 9 - st snare doesn't come in until lvl 9, both can feel a little useless before then. both are naturally tough and get their main dps assist abilities early. good early racial tactics to boost survivability

shaman/archmage - ~by lvl 10 - in heal spec, dps is different. hot is a small aoe which really helps early on, the group resistance buff does some real work in t1 scenarios and the st bubble is very nice too

warrior priest/dok - lvl 12 - you need that lvl 12 mechanic point feed, it's so important. before that these classes don't really work, afterwards you can actually play like a frontline healer -> aoe feed, hot, heal, heal, aoe feed... some might argue 20+ when you start getting your group heals but can at least have fun with them at 12

swordmaster/blackguard - lvl 20+ - neither are particularly tanky out of the box, they get the worst early racial tactics and even if trying to dps they're worse than a chosen spamming ravage. both of the elf tanks really need their full toolkits to start working properly, they feel a little weak until you're well into the mids and have your spec abilities

at 20 lvl they get most of the achetype basics.
challenge for tank.
group heal for healer.
I forgot about dps. gap closer for mdps and loot for rdps?
at 40 they get class defining skill IMO.
WoDS for SM, retribution for slayer, furious howl for BG etc.

despite everyone say u need 40+rr b4 40lvl, I'd always got to 40 asap to get the last skill.
for fun skill arsenal. rr gear set were following.
for me at least.

so get to 20 first.
SM8, SW8, AM8, WL7, KoBS6, BW6, WP8, WH7, IB8, Eng5, RP5, SL6
BG8, Sorc8, DoK8, WE7, Chs8, Mg8, Ze7, Mara8, BO6, SH7, Shm6, Chop4

Takes about 40h to 40/60 with opressor/vanq only pugging scs wo talismans or potions

Thus the question is sort of irrelevant and you should look for a class that excel at your preferred game style

Solo, (2-3man), 6man roam or aoe 24man

Typically rdps are doing better in T1 mayhem bc they are less reliant on guard (tank lvl 10) and heals (no grp heals yet). Good positioning can keep you out of harms way

Thanks for all these insights. Basically, I was comparing Rune Priest (where I feel at least a little bit useful as a healer) and Warrior Priest (where I die continuously without helping anyone :-D). Reading your inputs, I'll wait a little bit before quitting on the WP ;-)

(and last night, during one fight, I saw a Disciple of Khaine being first in healing & first in DPS at the same time for the destruction team, I admit that didn't feel good :-D)

Runepriest is BASICALLY the only real healer on order. WP can choose between surviving and not healing anyone else, or being a slow healer (due to class mechanic) that dies constantly, while AM is basically off-dps and not really a healing class. DoK has good utility because covenants, Shammy simply has stronger heals than AM.
Want to play a healer on order? Go runie, there isn't really an alternative.

rp is less desired end game than wp and am, same for zeal. they're nice to start with, great in pubs but not meta meta meta

At vanq w/ sent ring you are about 80% ish as powerful as sov players (less if they have triumph/Vic ring)
80 BG, SM
80 Choppa/slyer
75+ bw/sorc
80 wh, we, WL
60 sham/am

Dont get mislead by scenario scores. Often just spaming hots or dots ppl get impresive results but that doesnt mean it lead to survival/kills. I remember once i did zealot flash spaming rank 2 and toped charts few scs in row but ppl were dying anyway :)
Anyway, try understand what went wrong when someone dies and how to avoid same mistake in future.
