New player and currency changes

Hello,

I started playing not long ago, so far my gear progression was focused on going into lakes till I get enought medallion to buy my tier rvr set, then go back questing/scs till my rank/LVL was high enought to get next tier.

This method was not quick and the gold bags helped immensely to speed the process up but now someone in game told me that bags will no more contains rvr set pieces.

How will this affect my gear progression? Will it help me catch up with older players gear or the grind will be worse?
