Been avoiding RoR for a couple of weeks after the lastest few patches.
But it really suprices me how people are defending useage of an addon like NB.
RoR is not really what I would categorice as a "hard" game to play.
The difficulty of the skill-level comes from getting the most out of every globalcooldown, possitioning yourself, coordinating your abilities with your allies depending on the situation. and that is it.
There is barely any resource management, no style chains like in DaoC, no penalty for breaking a rotation other than performing slightly worse.
And people are willing to quit an entire game because this safetynet is removed and you can now fatfinger keypress "4" instead of keypress "5".
To me that is just lazy and too much of a perma-trainingwheels situation.
I am all for addons that inform the players information, but allows the user to make choices with the information (State of Realm, Buffhead etc)
But when an addon can provide you with information AND perform the correct choices for you, that is crossing the line of what I personally think is acceptable. In this case, NB doing conditional checks for possitional melee abilities as an example.
If people need an addon and safetynet to press their correct rotations in a game with this lowskill floor, thats on them if they want to be adults riding on trainingwheels.
But the conditional checks have to not be welcome, and thats a stance id love to hear the Devs take towards Nerfedbuttons or Buffedbuttons or whatever addon you are trying to allow on RoR.
Conditional checks should be treated like Warbuddy.
