We find its place? Do you think we can be effective in a group?

Mara is better, choppa has a little bit more dmg but less survivability. Mara x2, Mara+dpsDok, mara+mSH or ranged SH are better options. But still u can go WE if you really like it.

When you want to play in warbands doing aoe dmg, both others are better. For single target group within a warband a WE is fine. You can place a debuff on dead enemies, which prevents revive, which can be very useful. Your single target dmg is high.
Mara is a very good pick too, tougher and overall more flexible because you can spec better for aoe. And you are better at solo farming pve. You offer an armor debuff, which fits well with other phys dps classes in group.
For solo rvr, WE is better.
Whatever you pick, you are better within a group as melee dd.
Dying is no option.

What risk? You have guard.
